Where was the Sydney style of play I admired so much in the finals last year? We worked harder by far until our guys ran out of legs a bit in the last quarter, I think the result probably flattered the Swans a bit.

And Arabian Goggles, I'm glad you've stopped pretending to be a Port supporter, you are one of the idiots of BigFooty.

sweet irony.:)

On todays performance sydney no doubt would of been below their best, but lets hope that mark doesnt make too many more excuses for port power this yr.

Well lets be honest. They weren't the clear standout team last year. There were about 4 or 5 teams that could have won the premiership. They had a lot of luck. So who is surprised that they are struggling atm?

What a stupid comment! Your lot had a home prelim and lost to St Kilda!! Sydney were the BEST side in 2005, accept that and I'll accept that we are on of 16 teams in 2006 who are fighting it out for the premiership. Make stupid comments like that at your peril. We'll be back!

No Sydney were the best team in the 2005 finals series. They did not win the minor premiership so they were not the best side in the season proper.

I don't like threads like this, although there's absolutely no excuse not to win comfortably. At least it wasn't a Swans fan who started the thread.

I'm glad a Swans fan didn't start it.

All true long-standing Swans fans know that when everyone gets there most pumped up & people come literally from around the country to be part of it all, that it is on these sort of days that they are more than likely to stuff up.
It was embarrasing to see dignitories like Bobby Skilton Paul Kelly David Murphy et al all there in celebration of us finally breaking the culture of scratching for survival we have etched for ourselves at South/Sydney, but only to see that sort of flat effort.

The thing is, today was probably something many of them have been part of before. :(
