I wouldn't hate Heeney playing more time forward as he's such a strong mark.
But not much use being a good mark up forward if our midfield isn’t getting it to him because they’re lacking Isaac Heeney.

I just want him to replicate the position he played in the last quarter against Collingwood, where there appeared to be about seven Isaac Heeneys on the field.

Parker found form against the Pies. This week it's Mills' turn.

Hopefully soon. He'll play, as much as I'd put him in the 2s, so down back from the start and let the ball come to him. If he looks less rusty and exhausted in future games, can start to put him at a few bounces, if not needed down back.

I think when Issac is in that mood. There is no point having him play a position.
Just let him roam.
Jr was the same for Geelong.

The swans need their back six to find form. Rampe and Melican being away for the last few weeks is really why the swans have been so easy to score against due to turnovers Through lack of matching players that could step into their roles, with McDonald ending up having to fill in, players like blakey and McCartin having to play slightly different roles that negate their strengths has led to a collapse in the defensive structure, Rampe coming back last week showed some good signs and with Melican hopefully back this week, will help out McCartin to focus on what he does best. I believe Mills will be slotted in the back and play well. There will howver be some beneficiaries to this move.

I think Blakey will have a blinder or play blind, depending on whether Meli-can, or can't play.

But seriously, if Melican is back then the back structure looks so much more balanced. There, you will see Blakey, ball in hand with his frills out, limbs akimbo, his hind legs flailing like mad, bursting through the corridoor and burning through his opponents, like the narrow shouldered dragon that he is.

Great post!

Just my opinion, but this sentence should be on the banner for Blakey's page!

Very happy to see Mills to take at least two crucial marks in the last qtr - if he continues to get better, our backline will have been restored to full health.
He's been in our coaching setup all year so it makes sense for him to play behind the ball where he can see everything in front of him - a bit like the on field coach role Hodge played at the Lions.

Exactly - he was always a gun defender - and we don’t need to waste him as a tagger or a midfielder.

People scared of Essendon. Bloody hell.

Not saying we can’t lose but, if we do, it’ll be because we don’t have our heads screwed on and not because of some media inspired mythical force.

Swans by 18.

We haven’t had our heads screwed on for 8 weeks now. That’s why people are saying we’ll lose to Essendon. Our best gets it done easily. We are not at our best.

In the third the Pies were running off Parker when forward. Her was moved in the centre when the game was ‘over’, 27 points down with 12 minutes to go & not looking like scoring let alone defending. Parker is not the player we wish he can be anymore for a whole game.

We are up against the ladder leaders this week so need to be on our toes. Their free kick for and against is a sight to behold.

With that said, as the week goes on, my optimism unsurprisingly rises.

You see the way the players celebrated was not so much because of a great escape but because they played at their best even if for a short burst.

The celebration, team song and atmosphere in the room after says the swans are back. Bigger, badder, better and of course, most importantly, faster.

They know it, I know it and the smart money knows it.

JHWF believes. Do you ?

I'm prepared for our attack to be a bit hit and miss in the first quarter, but I'm looking for lots of pressure and tackling. I feel they need to go back to attacking the game, and that may take a bit to click, but once it does, I'm expecting them to go on a run. Melican back, Rampe with a game under his belt and Mills running into form...

So, first quarter lots of pressure, and iffy attack; settling into a run on the second and third quarters with all out attack!

Fingers crossed... Swans by 36+ and we crack the hundred in the 3rd...

ONWARDS TO VICTORY!!! :largeredcircle::mwcirlce::largeredcircle::mwcirlce:

He played well, but I mean the pass to McDonald was an old fashioned Parker hack that paid off,

There is a slight concern at times how he gets run off on. But wasn't alone in the 3rd
