Yep. 15 of the last 17 flags have been to Victorian sides and the 2 non-Victorian sides who won I think won by a combined total of less than 3 goals.

exactly....

the only 2 non vic sides that have won since 2006...

2012 grand final
Swans won 14.7.91 to hawks 11.15.81

2018 grand final
eagles 11.13.79 to magpies 11.8.74

How many victorian clubs during that same period have not won premierships or barely managed to make the top 8??

Non Vic Clubs get an advantage during H&A but Vic clubs who are top 4 especially get the advantage in Finals.
haha

12 games at home, vs 16 or 17 games at home.
No travel
greater percentage of home grown talent
Being able to draft 50% plus home grown talent

Yeah, Non vic clubs get all the advantages

When an interstate team is strong it becomes near impossible to beat them at home, which guarantees 11-12 wins. From that point they only need to win 3-4 games out of 11 to make top four.

Strong vic teams are much more succeptible to losses to other vic teams at home.

and strong Vic teams get 16 games at home, and are near impossible to beat. This means they don't need to win any away.

This pushes them towards top 2

Lol no they arent near impossible to beat, they play other vic teams at home and lose quite often. It is an even match against other strong vic teams.

Hawks win 2012 9.5 times out of 10 if replayed.

You cant repeat 115 tackles, concede 64 inside 50s and rely on the opposition kicking 15 behinds not to mention Malceski kicking 2 goals from the boundary line that were completely out of his arse.

because the main event is at the G & interstate sides are at a disadvantage because they don't play their much.

Its the intimidation/preparation factor as well its always easier performing not having to travel on the day and be settled and comfortable playing infront of 80k+.

I was so comfortable delivering my speech infront of my classroom of 25 people i froze when i had to repeat it in the school hall of 300+

it is also alot easier for a strong interstate team to make the GF as they are almost a shoe in for top 4 and in alot of cases top 2 due to the easy guaranteed wins at home of 11-12 games in the bag. You only have to knock off a few weak vic teams at telstra dome or the G and you are a top 4 lock.

If carlton was a sydney based team with their own fortress in 2023 for example, they probably would have played off in the GF instead of being knocked off against brisbane at the gabba.

from there on you just need to win 2 home games to walk into the GF.

much easier than a vic club gets it

How do you explain 15 of the last 17 premiers being Victorian if the non-Victorian sides have such an advantage?

The way some Victorians are speaking here it seems like they think them only winning 15 of the last 17 shows that non-Victorian sides have too much of an advantage.

During that period how many interstate sides made grand finals??

Does that matter if the result is almost always a loss?

Not sure about you, but as a Swans fan my hope isn't for the Swans to lose in the Grand Final. I am not on the Swans board saying "you know what, I think we are good enough to lose in the Grand Final this year" and all Swans fans universally agreeing with me, saying they are so excited that it might happen.

The only reason Sydney ever lose important games is because of umpires or injuries or interstate travel or unfair cost of living compensation etc.

It is never because they are chokers or simply beaten by a better team.

When will people ever learn!!!

it does matter considering you have also chosen a very selective period that works in favour of your argument.

during that period quite a few interstate teams have made GF's, when they probably shouldn't have if they were a vic team.

during that period you are referencing, geelong has won 4 flags, hawthorn 4 flags, richmond 3 flags, collingwood 2 flags, that is 13 of the premierships during that period.

of those premiership sides, who do you believe won the premiership because they were a vic team?? which interstate team did they beat because of an unfair advantage??

Nope, just 2016. No Swans fan argues the 2006 Grand Final was lost because of umpires.

Easy. Start with the current premiers. They didn't deserve to beat the Giants in the prelim. And they scraped home against the Lions who were playing away from home.

30 scoring shots to 21. The Lions were lucky to not get pumped.

Typical Swans supporter stupidity.
