In recent years it is because our midfield is truly crap at the clearances. Yes we can cover it in the H&A season and launch our attacks from defence but in the finals being second to the ball is never a good thing.

I personally think your recent gamestyle since the introduction of the stand rule has been a bit of a gimmick.

Those small 20m chip kicks through the corridor taking advantage of the stand rule initially started well as most teams didn’t adapt to the rule well enough.

Now everybody has figured it out and it doesn’t hold up. To me your current brand of footy doesn’t look like premiership footy.

Bit of bad luck playing against some strong vic teams at the MCG I guess. You’d probably have to look at it on a per team basis rather than a club basis.

Also in 1996, Swans made the grand final vs North and the Sydney forward line was lead by a generational key forward in Tony Lockett.

Yet the swans won the 2005 flag that had Barry Hall kick 80 goals in that season. Crazy that Barry Hall kicked 2 goals out the swans 8 goals and swans remarkably won a grand final.

I can see Brisbane beat a non Vic side in the MCG this weekend.

Sydney can win grand finals. They won in 2005 and 2012.

Could of easily added 2006 and 2016 if luck went their way.
