Doc Reid was only ever a pawn in the game. The clear tactic was to force *Hird to accept responsibility for the mess he'd created, with the underlying threat of destroying the career and reputation of his personal physician if he didn't comply. As someone else said most eloquently earlier today, once you've landed the big fish, you don't eat the bait.

You may be right. But my view is that Demetriou would squash the Doc like a bug if he could. He's an ugly, ugly human being and would show no mercy. He'd eat the bait.

Well next Monday he taints the ceremony as he hands the next one out doesn't he?

If he came out and said "in good faith I can no longer keep the medal because of the conjecture around the suppliments program" I would have some form of respect for him.

If he doesn't and it gets taken from him or he hands it back after being issued a sanction any words he says are meaningless.
