The thing is, being the giant sooks they are, they actually make good on their threats to not turn up to games etc. Or maybe that was just because they were losing and they are giant front runners.

Of course, they did actually fail to turn up to a pre-season game a couple of years ago.

Ummm, the AFL has rubbed out your coach, you had to sack your CEO, you're the laughing stock of the competition, you've been banned from the draft and ASADA are going to ban players for PED use.

(Memo: Crime and Punishment is a bit too long and complex to be summarised easily but the "takeaway" is that it is about the liberating effect of acknowledging one's wrongdoing and the possibility of redemption for anybody, no matter how grave their crime, as long as they fully and willingly accept they had done the wrong thing. Basically the opposite of what Hird and Essendon have done and still do. Just a tip.)
