im sorry to say if your a saffer supporter, their team really is average for me.

England, Aus, India far better sides.

I know Marco Jansen has top scored for his team in a test match before, but i think the lack of game time, may end up costing SA here.

I know Windies were bad against England but their batters have a resemblance of how to bat .Also knowing local conditions would help.

Hendrick- is not good enough at this level
De Kock- is interational standard. but I doubt have a bit of doubt on him after powerplays.
Klaasen- international bowlers and better teams have figured him out. He did have that golden run he was going through. But reality was, it wasnt going to on forever.
Markram- is a poor mans Beau Webster. Matt Short is better than his equivalent. Australian depth in T20 is better too than SAs when it comes to batsman.
Stubbs- too young and unproven on overseas wickets.Seems a bit of a flat track bully on roads and/or local conditions.
Miller- is international standard.
Jansen- probably not as good as other top 5-7 nations where it comes to pinch hitting at the eback end.

Gotta remember not so long ago, SA had Bavuma in their white ball set up.

They have the batters there to bring in , they do really need to bite the bullet because their batting looks far weaker and seems its a bit of an "old school club" with them rarely dropping players.

I’m starting to get the feeling that you’re not a big fan of SA cricket.
I watched the SA20 and have watched alot of their international fixtures. Its always been their achilles heal. They really are poor in all forms with the bat away from home.

Its not a choking tag. Its the lack of skill and I dont know, a deep level of cricket IQ , knowledge and investment in the game at an earlier age over there?

And the more i think about it, the local leagues in England are far, far better than the SA 20. Big Bash is 2nd best comp in the world.

Markram, Hendricks ive been saying for a while arent suited for this format of the game at the top level.
Markram plays the anchor role in the SA line up, like Kohli does or Williamson does for the respective sides. Yes, he has been out of form. But he's contribution to the team is not going astray. Last game he played the perfect support role for Qdk. And this game, he dropped himself lower the order because South Africa got off to a brilliant start that they felt there was no need for a anchor to come in at 10 overs.
Hendricks and Rickleton are the two opening options, both have justified their spots in the squad over vdDussen with runs in the SA20 and the CSA T20 Challenge prior to the IPL.
South Africa did play on the NY for the majority of their games in the first leg of the WC, and we've seen, it's been low scoring and heavily favour the bowler, who have done their job.

He looked great on his home decks in the SA T20 comp but like Matt Short he's found it harder to look great at international level.

There's a big difference in the quality of domestic level T20 bowling to international T20 bowling going up against the best bowlers
I wouldn't say Stubbs struggles everywhere away. This was his IPL. He is just batting lower that he usually does for South Africa than he does in the SA20 and CSA T20 Challenge.
