Re: Kennelly open to a return

I agree the biggest part of all of this 'will he, wont he?' play for us again, or will he join the Saints, is publicity for his new book. I'm beginning to feel that he wont play for anyone. This is just publicity, but after all this publicity he will advise that he is retired fully. I hope I'm wrong, but thats my gut feeling.

I'm not often i'm wrong ;), ha ha, but very happy to be wrong on this occassion. Aside from his ability on the ground, he will be invaluable to the younger players, both as a player and as a person.

Welcome Back Tadgh! :thumbsu:

Re: Kennelly open to a return

Sometimes we forget that the AFL is part of the entertainment business and as such the key motivation is to put bums on seats, merchandise on kiddies and ratings on the telly. All this suspense, the drama and the dirty under-hand offer by Lyons adds up to a piqued interest in round 1 when the under-dog good guys (us), strengthened at the last minute by the arrival of a posse of hard-nosed honchos from Ireland & Brisbane, face the evil St Scum, a gang of player poaching no-gooders led by their coach-turned-traitor Lyon and chief waaa-waaah boy St Nick.

Bums on seats, booty for all and book sales a-plenty for Tadgh. They couldn't have orchestrated it better if Rossy, Roos and Tadgh had planned it......;)

Kennelly's Back!

THE SYDNEY Swans have received a huge boost ahead of 2010 with the news Tadhg Kennelly will return from Ireland to play with the club next season.

Kennelly, 28, quit AFL football on the eve of the 2009 season to return to Ireland and play gaelic football with his native County Kerry.

But after living out a boyhood dream in September by claiming the All-Ireland title, the dashing half-back has decided to return to Australia.

When news he was interested in returning filtered out, it wasn't just the Swans who expressed interest.

Bolton cleans up Fev and gathers the pill, handpasses to Shaw, he runs and bounces twenty times then handpasses to Mattner on our defensive 50, who takes a few loping strides before chipping over to Tadgh-Taghd-Ti-Ty, who runs and weaves elegantly down the wing (getting a great shepherd from the Mummy, who knocks Judd back into 2003), then a spearing pass is delivered into the breadbasket of one Daniel Bradshaw, who goes back and slots it.

Why is the off season so long?
