Big Al, if you are talking about that old guy who played in the guts for Barny last year, I think they called him twoee, he has a go for an old bloke! Got any background on him Big Al, did he really play Super Rules?:D

Yeah he's still going OK and he's still trying to convince blokes about his age, will show you his drivers licence first chance he gets. I think he did get asked about super rules but wouldn't part with his beloved ruggers for a new uniform. Will be happy to see him running around in a Tiges jumper again though.

we all should find out his age soon as he has a big birthday coming up going on all reports its a big one;)

Are they relations of his chicken? You must know him very well ,maybe a connection yourself with him or his club?In relation to Conway did Thurgoona speak to him or vice versa if he was going to run around surely he would have been perfect with a lot of experience to add to their list. What do you think run straight? He must be getting good coin to cover what it sounds as though he will loose through Thurgoona's boycotting of the Kinross.

they must be bills old shorts or sams lol:D

What is this??? The Hargraves thread. Lets talk footy.

I think theres more to Conways decision to join Mitta than meets the eye.
Do the benefits of playing at Mitta outweigh playing with the Dogs?
Business wise we all understand he will not be supported by Thurgoona.
Travel to Mitta for training and home games versus Thurgoona. No comparison.
Granted Mitta are again going to be a contender, but Thurgoona seem to have a plan in place to build a side that this year may push for spots 3 to 7. With some good decisions over the next few years Thurgoona will be around the money.
The $$$ value to play at Mitta would be far outweighed by $$$ at the Doggies combined with the turn over created at the Kinross by the footy club functions / social events.

i think your pretty close to the mark with that one i think the major decision would have to be the lure of winning a flag before he pulls the pin. Will probably only play for 1 season. How many flags has he played in? In all honesty i think has leadership would have been valuable at the doggies as well as his business but Thurgoona are looking at a long term plan maybe winning a flag in 08 or 09 so it wouldn't be the quick fix to winning a flag he would be after.

Not a bad summary on Conway, does he have any connections at Mitta (mates, relatives?) that may have helped his decision. Also where would Cameron play if he lines up for Kiewa. You'd imagine Richardson at CHF Sanday in FF/FP so does Cameron play deep forward, midfield? Comments?

Not a bad forward line with Mcvean and Dineen aswell, very interesting, will it be too crowded up forward.

Yeah you might be right there RS but still even with what they had last year its going to be one of the more potent attacks in the lge.Thats if Camo signs.;)
So why cameron's backflip if he was originally going to sign with mitta?Hard to see him going from being an establishled high profile player in the firsts to being under Ryan Richardsons tutelage who was a fringe player predominately reserves now a/c of kiewa. What could Ryan teach Cameron as he stands out in front of the group. No disrespect to either but surely th epecking order doesnt seem to fit with the runs on the board.I understand Richardson signed first and it may be a timing thing but would the respect really be there?

Cameron isnt an idiot!!! He would listen and learn, but on the field you would expect he would take the lead role. Respect or no respect he has got on board nowing full well who is on the coaching panel.

Is he in fact on board? If he has signed a contract with Wodonga as previously stated then there could actually be no more to this rumour

NOP and Albert I thought this was a forum for footy news, comments etc. I didnt realise I had to have a written press release to post messages relating to blokes comments on here. Obviously NOP your taking notes on every words he says, seeing your able to "quote" his statements. As run straight said if we didn't post comments that players or coaches say there would be no discussion. Onto footy, any names relating to the 8 players heading to Tallangatta, he must be a pretty popular coach to snare 8 players straight off. Good luck to him though, has got a couple of good players there already.

Yes he is a popular bloke and has good coaching qualities. But these guys will no doubt get found out playing in a decent league. Upper Murray is fairly woeful.

Who are the good players already there?

Simon Bone's the coach - and his creditibility couldn't be questioned. Richardson wouldn't be the first (nor the last) assistant coach in name only.

Clackas, clubs signing up players as an A/C for playing purposes only is nothing new. As you said, Bones credibility can't be questioned.
The question was would Cameron take instruction from an A/C that in previous years he has had a higher standing than, would the respect be there?

Just seven or so weeks to go until the season starts, anyone know confirmed ins/outs in TDFL?

Are Mitta really that far ahead of the rest, or as I think, will the competition stand up and give them a fight?

Cameron @ Kiewa shouldn't cause too much fuss, I reckon he will be given every opportunity to be a leader with the kangas he must be getting!

Which club has been the sleeping giant over pre season?

Yack would be Mitta's biggest challenge Chiltern will be there abouts again. Barny has picked up a few handy types but also lost a few. Kiewa has been all the talk but have lost a bit of quality i'm told. Rutherglen had a fairly handy side last year known depatures being the Seymours and the other two (could they count) Tallangatta look as though they've put in a few clearences no known names though. Thurgoona another side that should improve. Beechworth are struggling with getting a list together (great coaching move that one) Saints look like they will improve on there one win last year. Dederang's losses seem to have out weighed there gains at the moment so who knows with them. I think should be a very interesting season not the one horse race everyone predicts. Spots from about 4th to 8th should be interesting with upsets on the cards nearly every week. Any known Practice matches yet.

Not certain, but think Conways Mother might be one of the Tobins from Mitta.

I hear over the weekend that 8 players followed Mathey to Tallangatta from his previous club, unsure of the quality of these guys but either way 8 incoming guys would be a welcome addition to any club.

Just been on the transfers list, and my information about the incomers to Tallangatta was spot on. Anyone know of the quality of these guys????
