Reading about the year Osborne had at Walbundrie on the Hume thread you would imagine so

They are both great players so i hope they leave that kinda crap in the hume league, and just play footy, which when they are on is superb.

Does anyone know what strip the Wahgunyah boys will be wearing this year, i dont see Barny giving up the tiger

They'll will be wearing lions strips i am lead to believe

Apparently had asked Barny if they could keep tiger strip and name. Obviously tigers refused and subsequently at members meeting the lions strip was voted for and HAS been accepted by TDFL clubs and League .

hey people whats been happening in the Tallangatta league so far this october. were well into the silly season and there hasn't seem to be any really big signings a couple of handy ones but no big marquee players. and by the way does anyone have a list of all the clubs B & F winners the border mail would have usually published them by now and i've been away so i may have missed them.

Thoughts on Dickens appointment as coach of Chiltern. Will Spike Brand stay there are would the lure of lining up for home club of Culcairn as they attmept to go back to back and seeing they should again shape up OK sway him out to the town of 1000?

I heard that R.Storey will be leaving Chiltern if Dickens got appointed. Does anyone know if he has resigned with them yet??? Although he did have a big injury year this last season.

No nothing about him H, but why would anyone do that and undermine himself and the club he has signed with, sure its just not those rumours that always go around this time of year? O r someone else starting them to get himself a better price? Has happened before and will happen again.

Here here, well said Emu. Sounds like Mathey is on right track and great to hear from an ex players point of view. If only more clubs where about players & supporters and the town or should i say if players were more about the club, town and supporters rathing than blowing their own trumpets and demanding big dollars for a 2 night, 1 day a week job, some guys dont get that much to work 5 days!!!!!!

Unfortunately players do not grow up in those towns and play for money only. The media and commercialisation of sport has changed the motivation of young people reasons to play.

To counter this having players sign two year minimum contracts is one strategy to make sure they stay at the club. It is also promotes a long term strategy to making the club stronger.

The town is not big enough to make a strong club and needs players from Albury Wodonga.

Not a bad idea but i think clubs in some cases need to change there recruiting strategy. For instance clubs need to sell the club first and foremost showing him the type of environment he could be coming too. If all the player is interested in is how much your going to pay then his really not the type of person you want, No matter how good a player he might be.
