Here are some cold hard facts from the 2009 season for a few of you Hawthorn supporters that have been oh so smug about Draft Picks.

Average Champion Data Points 2009

Tambling 82.9
Roughead 82.8
Franklin 80.5

Champion Data points may not be the be all and end all, but they are a fair indication of how a player is going. Theres a fair case to say Tambling is having a better year than both of them!

Fail on so many levels. First of all bringing champion data stats to support an argument, is like taking a pea-shooter to a gun fight.

Secondly even if we were to go on those stats, hardly a foregone conclusion, a difference of 2.4 and 0.1. I'm assuming that 1982 is your year of birth, when was your last premiership 1980???

You guys might have stuffed up and should have got tambling instead of Roughead. You could have done with a quality midfiielder yesterday when you were getting smashed in the clearances by a Brisbane side without its top 3 ruckmen.

Richo 1982- I'm still in shock that a richmond supporter would actually start this thread... mate at the end of the day roughead and Buddy are both premiership players and they were both a big part of that winning team.... Do you think tambling will ever have a chance of winning a premeirship with the current group of superstars that richmond have put together?!

Didn't tambling get dropped earlier this year!

Anyway seeing richmond is so happy with tambling you can keep him.

The hawks are more than happy with roughy and buddy.

Oh, thats a pretty solid line of reasoning, your suggesting that Tamblings better than buddy and rough because he has a higher champion data ranking, then suggesting he can replace one of our midfielders, who all rank higher than him in champion data rankings.

Tambling in his defense is very fit, one day he might be allowed to carry the drinks to buddy and rough.

In 2007 Tambling also averaged more champion data points than roughead, even though both played 20 games. Obviously in 2008 when Hawthorn dominated, Roughead scored higher than tambling. Now in 2009 when the Hawks are struggling a bit (not as badly as the tigers are) his scores are again lower. I conclude that Roughead is a downhill skier.
