How did he go against his former team-mate Nick Wegman? He bowls pretty quick from what I remember of him, surely there would have been a bit in that battle.

You play in the comp Insider?

No comment on any of the coastal batting efforts, some of the Huon Cricketers would have batted better!!!

Didn't read Friday's Advocate at all WynyardCat?? Anyway...he got into a scuffle at the Royal Oak when with the NWTCA side and punched the owner

(NB: The Royal Oak is Launceston's major sponsor) ;)

Sorry Insider, I live in Sydney. Can only read the Aggrovate online, and it wasn't in their handful of stories.

He's always been a firey lad. I gave him his first Wynyard CC cap when he was just a kid. Have to say I'm not surprised, sadly.

def
South Launceston 161 (McCoy 37, Nutting 26, Mitchell 4/23, Hays 4/24)

Comments: Insipid, Dreadful and Pathetic, Westbury's bowling was like the equivlent of a schoolkid, and the batting wasn't much better. Ulverstone got to 172 thanks to a 42 run 9th wicket stand from Pearce and Howe. Ulverstone only needs one win to qualify for the One Day Finals (Ulverstone 9 points)

According to my father who was at the Wynyard showground, Wynyard has just the one problem - they can't bat. Nobody prepared to build an innings.

That's been the problem with all of the coastal sides all year really. Ulverstone are only where they are because of their bowling attack, they've only posted 1 decent score all year above 200.

Wynyard have been probably the worst side all year with the bat from the coast, failing to score 200 once.

Yes it is!

That wont last long. Its one league or the other up here. We have a young quick who had to choose between the Broncos and South Launnie 3rds a couple of years back.
Great batting by the kid though, 158 run weekend, used to play against him in 4ths at Mowbray

HA! Oh i love sarcasm. Anyone knowing of the great man himself has probably got drips coming out of harold reading this.

Tips for this weekend:
North Hobart (to continue Clarence's inconsistency), University (to be too good for the struggling Bucks), Sth Hobart-Sandy Bay (to pip Kingborough) and Glenorchy (to be too good for the Farne)

Round 5 Greater Northern: Launceston (to rout Burnie/Yeoman), Sheffield (in a big upset), Riverside (to just sneak in against Ulverstone), Latrobe (to keep George Town's misery going), Westbury (to sneak past Wynyard) and Mowbray (to be too hot for Devonport)

Round 6 Greater Northern: Launceston (to be too good), South L'ton (for a long overdue win), Wynyard (just over Riverside), Devonport (just over GT), Burnie/Yeoman (to whip Westbury), Mowbray (to flog Sheffield)
