Not if you still play for Nor-West. I haven't played for Mac Uni for a couple of years now as I am playing for New Norfolk in Tassie. Still follow Mac Uni in the sydney league, although from what I hear they are still s**thouse!
Sorry wrong bloke. They still go alright the Kookas, altho when we beat them in 03, the 1st time the Jets/Hawkesbury had beat them in 9 years, they bagged the hell out of us on their website.Terrible.Good win tho.(the magoos lost by 210 points anyway!!)Check this link out tho, unreal. http://www.muafc.com/media/video/Chachi Footy Legends.wmv

You would hope it wasn't Trent. Plenty of talent, but unfortunately the biggest ego you will ever see. Rates himself FAR too highly. Plus from what I saw he couldn't cut it at Regional, so not sure what hope he would have at Premier level. Went back to the ODFA because he preferred being a big fish in a little pond.

Any one have any inside info on the Norfolk/Brighton news posted in the Mercury this morning? http://www.news.com.au/mercury/story/0,22884,20872220-13222,00.html
I was led to believe all SFL contracts expire on 31 october each year, maybe this is incorrect.can anyone advise if this is correct.I am told thatthe players had several meetings prior to accepting Brightons offers. which like some other clubs are paid outside the contract price[ topped up by supporters,or other means] and the SFL cant, or wont do anything about this as they cant prove anything.

New Norfolk will not miss these players who have gone chasing money as thier good young players will all step up and are playing for the right reasons ,love of the club.and pride in the jumper, qualities hard to find these days.

What a load of b*llsh*t......their good young players dominated in the reserves last year didn't they?

Nobody would play for the love of the club and pride in the jumper and still get paid money....so they play for free?

can assure u it is trent, joker is goin out with his sister so he is jumping on the ship too..know he kicked a couple of bags up there in the odfa last season but obviously brighton havent seen him play because he is no where near joker's or a matty martin standard..appaerntly he is on over 100 a game too..they gotta be cashed up to chuck that out to a 18 yr old

Read it again....I didn't say their reserves players got paid, I was asking if they'll play for free in the seniors......

And I was saying that they will not step up and be competitive when they were barely competitive in the reserves competition.

Nexy year is a new season Wilbur, I wouldn't go writing off the reserves just yet. With Rick Braslin the new coach, I am sure a lot of experienced players will return for a kick.

In other news Rick Braslin has been pushing his body to the limits with pre-season training and has lost 20 kilos.....he is now 105kg!

in the scheme of things boys, who cares about the magoos anyway!!!!!
would have to agree though that if they werent getting a game in the seniors when the other players were their, i cant see them making that big of step

Why not? The New Norfolk seniors side was one of the best in the SFL last year. With a few players leaving it creates the opportunity for the young guys to take the next step and establish a regular spot in the line up.

New Norfolk had a poor year in the reserves, but the colts had a good season with "freak" Booth winning the association best and fairest and also something like four New Norfolk players topping the goal kicking list. Who's to say they won't bypass reserves and slot right into the seniors side, like the "battle tank" David Maddox has done.

In some of the old AFL list handbooks, they used to list Paul Hudson as being drafted from Glenorchy!
Even though he never played a game for the Magpies in his life, I think he might've played his very early junior days with them, but played underage football for Hobart then debuted as a 15-year old in the seniors for Hobart at Queenborough in April 1986.

I saw that in the AFL Record when he retired, found it odd for them to put that, I think they got the Hudsons mixed up when putting that into the record, they may have saw the last name and then figured as his dad was at the club at one stage that the son must've as well.

I am still banking on them being stupid though.;)

Don't know anything about that, but bloody oath they would be a mile over the salary cap.

What is the current salary cap? Is it the same as it was when the TFL teams joined in 2001? I think they were given a certain cap different to others at the time.

The young players like Wessing, Clayton, Hall, Heron,Martin, Shade , Booth, Wilson, and others will be great replacements for those players who have moved on, and actually done New Norfolk a favour, as now they will have to play these youngsters. Most of these will be good senior players with a few games under thier belt.

Word is Ricky Martin will fill the void left by Sean Salter, the big fella has lost 15 kg so far this summer and is looking at 60 goals plus in the ones this season.

He wouldnt want to lose much more weight. His big strength last year was his one on one marking contests. He was virtually unbeatable one on one.

Have heard something very interesting today about the Devonport Football Club! I know it's still the silly season and alot of people are talking out of there behinds but i got told today Devonport offered three young Penguin players, Luke Licht Ben Fielding and Nick Butler $800.00 Dollars each just to sign on.
Finding this very hard to believe as last year they were talking about being broke. How would some of the reserves players who are more than capable of stepping up feel about a group of young guys who would struggle to have played 100 senior games between them feel about these guys coming over and getting money to do so.
Nothing against these young blokes who are all good footballers and are only going to get better.
Why not go and chase a bit of cash and a chance to play in a Granny.

i would love to see if this one is true two blue. i know ray looty was at penguins gate this year but very interested to see if the family has migrated east to devonport for next year. i think all magpie players get paid ok but yea it would cause a little unravel amongst the two.... then again, the two have lost the last few grannies as well. On the other hand i did hear the players in question are a little disgruntled at penguin after they were told they were just run of the mill players!

Not sure they were told that but thought that because of what they were getting paid compared to others. Apparently the PFC has taken steps to ensure that there payments would suit.
