Be interesting to see if we do work some magic to get pick 1, forget adams and go for boyd.

Shaw, any 2 of goldsack/blair/martin , pick 11 to GWS
Pick 1, 19 to pies

We would have

Pick 1 boyd
Pick 10 bontempilli/ Kolodjashnij
Pick 19 dumont/ acres

2nd rounder for henderson
3rd rounder for white

Dont u just love hypotheticals

Shaw + 10 + 11 for Adams +Tom Boyd :thumbsu:
How about shaw-10-11 for pick 1?
Which one is it?

I think those 3 would get us Boyd, not Adams included.
Therefore, lets say 10 + 11 become stars, you really have 3 stars out for 1 (Tom Boyd)
Id rather 3 out with 3 in, better quality in the team more chance of being successful.

Desperate times for a new franchise. Here is my photo shop with out doing a photo shop if you get what i mean.

Still a better photoshop than Corey's attempt at Patton in a pies jumper :D

we'd need to throw the kitchen sink at WS to get pick 1, it would take Shaw and picks 10-11, personally seeing as we're likely to get overs for Shaw (pick 9) I'd prefer to keep our 3 picks, but if we really wanted pick one that is what it would cost us IMO.

Hypothetical: Geelong offer their first round pick (around 17) and we offer Shaw for Adams, which do you think the giants would go for?
Would pick 17 help them win more than one game next year?

Really depends on adams, if GWS want shaw so much and are willing to pay him that much to entice him i say we make a huge play for pick 1 and forget about adams. Especially if he wants to go the cats. GWS are screaming out for mature age talent, we should get a package together to get that 1st pick

just do shaw for adams... wed not need to have 9,10,11 after having 18,19,20 the year before.... for memory the year adams was drafted we were a lil light on pick... so would be good to get him

They will definitely improve lots next year, Cameron will get better which is scary, davis scully ward could take the next step up, all their young midfield stars will improve plenty plus mumford gives them a formidable ruck duo

Gws have already stated they are unlikely to trade the #1 pick.

IMO was never really going to happen. Just ducks and drakes, particularly as no team was ever going to be willing to throw up a proven superstar for a potential superstar.

Yeh they might win 3 games, but they will also get pumped plenty of times. There backline is shite, and they will still have 15-16 kids running around. Only side i see them beating would be melbourne and maybe sneak another game from somewhere.

They are the worst side by a long long way and they need more mature and experienced players to compete. No one else but shaw has been linked to them since mumford signed with, package shaw up with a few other players and we might get that pick 1

Id prefer to hold onto 9/10/11 aswell instead of trading all in for Boyd.

I dont watch GWS so have no idea how good Shiel is, is it rumoured Melb will offer pick 2?
Is he that good?
If so pick 9 + 10 for Shiel + 20
Pick 11 for Adams

Both known quality to our recruiters if they do watch them, whereas 1 in 3 could be a gun in the draft

There must be huge pressure on them to be competitive this year, especially under a new coach. They are not going to get a proven superstar for an unproven although exciting talent. Just doesnt happen. They are playing hard ball with it, dont blame them, but they also cant continue the way they are going.

Getting 3 extra senior players ( shaw, goldsack, blair for example) along with swapping of picks ( our 11 for their 19 ) would be a good deal for both

Shaw, goldsack, blair and pick 11 for

Pick 1 , 19

I think thats fair, but im also bias :D

Sorry but I don't think that would cut it.

IMO they would only trade pick 1 for pendles/Fyfe/dangerfield/griffin and players of that ilk. Essentially by floating Boyd out there, I think they were hoping on the off chance that they could snag their Ablett.

Was never going to happen and therefore won't happen.

Well they arnt serious about giving up pick 1. No one in their right mind would trade a proven champion for a kid who is the most talented in his age group. Crazy and totally unrealistic.

In horse racing terms its like trading your proven weight for age star for a 3yr old who is racing against his own age group.
