He's "chosen us" about as much as Jesse White has, which means if we can't figure out the right deal he still won't be ours.

Adams would be just as happy to go to Geelong but knows that in Shaw and pick 10 or 11 we have more to trade to GWS and he wants to do right by them.

I really wouldn't expect a result until Heath Shaw decides where he wants to go, which could be a long while away yet.

So same as Judda$$ did not come to us because we could not do the trade

Will be interesting guys if Shaw decides he wants the Cats. Firstly it throws out a potential trade option for you guys to get Adams but ironically it makes it also possibly more difficult for us to get Adams as well depending on what is required to facilitate the deal being done. All a bit odd!

Pick 15 lol. It's like bingo on here, leg's 11

Sums it up Well. We are his 1st Choice but if we can't do a Deal then the Cats can jump in

Basically, Collingwood have far more to offer than any other Vic club in terms of a trade. No other club has an quality player to offer, nor do they have a draft pick they're willing to part with. Our picks being #10 and #11 are perfect.

In my opinion we get him either way if he wants out.

If we don't get him then we look to pick an inside mid in the draft. I think Crouch's name has been thrown up as a potentially good get?

Best case scenario:
Shaw for Adams
2nd rounder for Henderson (doubt this will eventuate)
3rd rounder for white
4th rounder for Karnezis...
Picks 10 and 11 live in the draft

Highly idealistic but hey... I'd be darn happy with that!

Don't we have to use a minimum of 3 live picks in the draft?
So under that scenario we would also have to use pick 80 odd.....is a rookie upgrade considered a live pick? (Dwyer?)

Rookie upgrades count towards the mandatory 3 draft selections.

At this stage it's pretty certain that Dwyer will be upgraded. I think Mooney would be a chance as well. I'm pretty sure I read he's just agreed to a new 2 year deal and unless the rules have changed can only be on the rookie list for 1 more year. Given how Hines views the next two drafts they may opt to upgrade him this year.

Haven't played bingo in years, but it used to go off like a frog in a sock when I was a little tacker, from memory - clickety click, all the sixes, sixty six..

If we get White delist one of Gault or Lynch.
Karnezis. Not in best 22.

If that was the scenario it would be Gault.

Lynch is contracted on better money and offers more to the senior side in 2014 than Gault will. Also a good person to have around the club from all reports, a real pro and drives others to train hard by example.

Dave, Taylor Adams will be ours by the end of the week.

It will either be the Thomas compo pick or swap for Shaw.

Get the "Welcome to Collingwood" thread ready ...... :thumbsu:

I'd be surprised if you were allowed to trade a compo pick during the free agency period. You theoretically could lose it by signing a free agent yourselves - and that would be a nightmare if you had already traded it.

If the compo pick is to be used it probably means Adams waits until after the FA window closes, and then it gets done in that last week of the trade period.

Adams is a gun. Luke Ball Mk II. I reckon it depends on Shaw. Giants have all the picks and youngsters you could ever want. Only good veterans will appeal. You blokes need Shaw to choose cash over footy.

Doesnt matter as much what Heater wants as to what the club wants. He is still contracted for 2 more seasons, so we dont HAVE to trade him at all. If a trade isnt in the clubs best interests they simply dont have to do it. Bucks and Co. hold all the Aces in this deal.

Heath Shaw did not attend the Copeland trophy, so it seems unlikely that he will not be traded and stay at the club. The best scenario is a first round pick or Adams for him. However, if a deal like this cannot be struck, it's hard to see Shaw and Collingwood abandoning plans to trade him out. The wheels have been set in motion and Shaw is already sitting outside the club. Whatever happens with our trade plans, Heath Shaw is almost certain to play elsewhere next year.
