Completely disagree. Adams has a great footy brain, reads the play to perfection and will only improve. Not to say he will or should play half back every week but he's a really good option to throw down there at times.
I don't get the Crisp across half back thing. He's shown a good knack to kick a goal, mostly last season. Plus he's a very good inside player, I'd leave him where he plays his best footy.
I hadn't thought of the goal kicking bit with Crisp it's an interesting counterpoint. I've not seen that from him this year at all though. One thing I'll say is that I've always found that Crisp underutilises his speed which is a shame when we play him as an inside mid because he doesn't have great breakaway speed, more of a good top speed he can use in space which is also more suited to a half back rebounder. And it's not like we have many great kicks in the back so his bullet passes would be welcome there.
With Adams he's improving but I wouldn't go as far as calling him a near perfect reader of the play. He does still take time to make a decision and often goes to a harder option than he should. Against Essendon we had plenty of time to make a decision so it didn't show, but I believe it will against better team.
At some point we will have to realise with 90 rotations per game we can't play 10 inside mids in the team and hope to get as much benefit out of rotations as we used to in 10-11 (Pendles Treloar Adams Greenwood De Goey Sidebottom crisp Swan is already so heavy in rotation for the core midfield group), so to build versatility I'm simply saying Crisp is better suited for more time at half back than Pendles or Adams.
