He's done well.
Always good to see great results when someone turns the corner from being a dumbo and become a good tran man etc

its worked out well.. the amt of hrs and days our recruitment team spend on these trades is unbelievable.. it can look like we just go ahead and say.. 'hey just give us varcoe'.. but its far more complex and time consuming than that. I think we actually bluffed brisabane into giving us crisp to be quite honest.. keeping in mind the above.

GWS Brisbane and Adelade/Melbourne did well out of us in the Howe/Aish/Treloar trades

Don't know about the others but Melbourne will find a way to stuff it up

Adams is at the club now, will be a jet. Hes exactly what we needed with Ball at the end (and now retired) Its pointless working out what he cost except to say he'll be a ten year player and that youngsters like Scharenburg were pencilled in to replace Shaw. Its Sharenburgs injury that has been the disappointment, not Shaws departure. Shit happens.

We all love Heater and would have him back tomorrow. There comes a point where you shouldnt have to put up with his shit any more and that point came. Whether Buckley made the right or wrong call is irrelevant. We got decent trade value. Without Adams at the club we'd be in an even deeper hole in the future.

If you'd have told me last year Adams would be trialled on a half back flank and absolutely played it to perfection, id check you into a mental asylum

He's come a long way. Still got aspects to work on, such as his kicking... One of the few players with leadership material. Which is important right now.

Being a recent knocker of Adams' game and in particular his decision making I can safely say the kid is improving. His best game for the club and the best thing about him which we witnessed tonight is his leadership. The kid threw his body on the line and instigated a few big plays for us down the track tonight.

At a boy keep going along Taylor Adams, you're winning me over very impressed after tonight!

Has won me over. Now in the leadership group at the club enough said.

Taylor Adams for Heath Shaw, wow what a trade. Clubs should try and trade with us, it usually turns out to a win, win. Except for the Bears, we own them at the trade table.

If we did a team of the last 40 years Heath Shaw would be the 1st backman picked. And i agree.. its actually quite pointless arguing.. its all done now. Heath is gone and Adams is here. We cannot change it. I hope i am wrong cos i want the Pies to win more than anything. but i am not optimistic

Jimmy clement, presti, pert, gayfer, morwood, mcguane, Russell all say hi. Shaw while making the single most memorable act in a grand final ever seen has plenty ahead of him. Was a gun player and still is. Definitely not the best backbone player we've had in 40 years.

Didn't realise this post was so old.

I would hope our coaches aren't thinking of having Adams play at half back in the long term. He lacks the speed for it and his kicking will get exposed by teams that apply more pressure than the extremely flat Essendon team we played yesterday.

If any of our mids should be trialled and shifted there in the long run it should be Crisp. Tough, excellent defensively, tall, good mark, good kick and great speed.

Seems that with Pendles and Adams playing there we're experimenting with the wrong mids to rotate at half back.

In my first post in the welcome thread I said that I had a feeling this guy would become my fav player.
He hasn't let me down. Personally I thought he deserved the medal but happy with Sidey as well.
I agree he should've won - he was fantastic.

Agreed. Some of his handballs were excellent and he looked as composed as I've seen him with ball in hand. The opposition were woeful but Taylor is trending just as we all hoped he would.

Bang on.
Just shows leading by example.
Terrific we got him.
Top game yesterday as well.

Your key pint about leadership is bang on.

Pandit extra likes for the Bears being owned by us.
Ha ha great line

I thought I'd give this a bump.

It's amazing how far his kicking has come in the past 18 months. Maybe all those posters who thought that with more experience it would improve were right .
I think that his kicking has always been good, however at AFL level he has rushed it, gone for to much or had some poor vision. He has certainly always had the potential to be a good kick.
