Gathers the bouncing ball at pace, stops, sidesteps then carefully caresses it to a full pace Elliot. That's Gold! #TayTay

Was a beautiful bit of play, hey doodles98 watch him hit Billy lace out.

Very happy with his output since crossing over.
I still would do this deal again if offered the choice of Adams for Shaw.

He's developed every year and has added some leadership polish to his game.

Kicking still needs work but I don't mind that he goes for a few of those "riskier" kicks.

He's one of few that will even think about it rather than some of our other pedestrian users.

Haha is this still debated? Adams will probably be the next captain, he crossed over from GWS and probably brought his mates WHE and Treloar too. Once FA swings around we'll be in the box seat to nab one of their guns, perhaps Jeremy Cameron as a FA.

All that said, Adams is an infinitely better player than Heath Shaw this year and for the rest of their careers. Shaw has been disappointing this year and will decline from here.

It's called periferal vision.. awareness of his surroundings. He chose the better option. Not only that.. a player who takes responsibility.

How come this vision misses the most genius part of this passage of play??

The Pendlebury kick that he chipped across to bounce up to Adams. Pure genius!

Pendlebury was best on, but I reckon Adams was the real catalyst for the come-back. He put his head over it, won the ball at will and started distributing it beautifully. He was possessed. One of the best games I've seen him play. It was a real leaders game.
Was terrific!
Leads by example too.

I'd disagree. Would have gone down as an inefficient possession due to the fact that it missed the target by quite a bit. If it weren't for the lucky bounce, it could have been going back over his head at pace.

That's not how the effective disposal stat works. If you take a kick and it ends up in the hands of your team mate it's an effective disposal, even if it was completely shanked and just got there by accident. It's part of what's wrong with the whole DE system.

That's not how the Matrix (Pendles) works wicksy!

Jeez... Is it kind of like the NBA assist whereby an assist is given if the play is continuous? What if that ball from Pendles bounced 10 times before Taylor picked it up?

Afaik as long as he picks it up uncontested it's effective

If you kick a dribble goal from the pocket it is listed as an effective disposal. It doesn't matter how much it bounces as long as it gets to its intended destination

You've completely missed the point. If a player kicked it off the side of his boot and it landed 50 metres from a teammate, bounced 8 time and came to rest yet another Collingwood player went and got it, is that an effective disposal. Based on the criteria others are mentioning, it would be.

Yes any disposal gathered by a teammate is effective

Whether it was counted as an ineffective or effective disposal it was still a chance play. Laces out on the chest is always preferable. Adams was lucky that a defender was just off position. I've noticed that Wells tends to do this as well and in a couple of instances it has resulted in a turnover. I wonder is this is because players don't expect it or it is hard to pull off with zone defence?

So I could kick it over my head.... the ball then bounces 150 metres to the other end of the oval. A mad foot race ensues with my team mate collecting the ball.... 30 seconds after it left my boot.

And that's effective?

I think Greenwood is necessary because Adams is too much of a downward skier. Adams went head to head with Mitchell and Mitchell ended up with 50. Now luckily Mitchell didn't hurt Collingwood much with his 50 but you do need to question Adams defensive work.
The **** game you watching.? Forgot 50. Its a number.look at the possies adams had that realllly hurt hawthorn. Quite few that actually contributed to us winning
