I must not be watching the same games as some of you lot....

For mine THunt has been really good this year, I have been really wrapped with his performances.

And for those of you questioning his disposal....how many has Selwood passed directly to opponents in the last few matches??? Not bagging him as it can happen to anyone in a high tempo high pressure game, but just an example, that even the best make mistakes!!!!

I know this is a forum and we must have a whipping boy for some reason, but until you find out what he has been told to do and rate him on that you have no idea. He must be well regarded in the club otherwise he wouldn't be playing.

There are certainly others in the team that have struggled over the year even some of our established stars but there are none of whom I would question effort.

Some of you really have been spoilt, give the guy a chance.

Mackie too, Lonners....the list is endless, happens a bit, so to blame it on one player, as young as Hunt, is ridiculous. They all make mistakes even the best of them.
So I agree with you Rellik.

I think Hunt was great at the stoppages last night, made some nice runs. Amazing that his disposal has been discussed, yet glaring errors, which cost us goals aren't.
Wojak's pass when he was unopposed, was woeful in the third. Cats on a break, all he had to do was put it out in front of Stokes in the forward 50. Kicked it directly to
Stokes' opponent. Turnover, goal to WCE.

I think he's progressing pretty well. One thing you can rely on is he gives 100% and his run is pretty good. He doesn't worry about making mistakes, which is good, because in today's football if you don't take risks you're dead. I think people forget how Johnson, Bartel, Chapman etc. were when they were 22. They had a lot of developing still to do as lots of our guys do now. For mine, I think Guthrie is the most worrying atm, because he seems to have rabbit in the headlights moments and loses his man in the backline. I think lots of people on this site only look at ball in the hand moments and disposal, but work without the ball is just as important. Guthrie has a lot to learn about back play, but may still get there. We gotta to give the boys time. Despite the media hysteria, this is just a development year.

Of course he is only young and we have to be patient. I like what he brings to the team and think he will be a long term good-vg. player for us but gee his mistakes are costly. Guthrie-am really pleased with how he is building his skills.

I hope Taylor Hunt turns out to be a great player, because we are paying a pretty hefty price for his education at the moment.

Yes, he has a bit of dash and goes in hard, but his decision making and disposal are both highly suspect. And he just makes too many bad errors. He hasn't been on his Pat Malone this year in that respect, but for mine he's just doing it a bit too often and it's hurting us. Compare him to guys like Christensen and Duncan who are both younger but just consistently make good decisions, and are already awesome players.

He's got a bit of the chicken without the head element to him at the moment. Can't question his attack on the ball and general intensity but his inability to consistently execute basic skills means he'll most likely be groomed as a negating run-with player in the Clint Jones mold.

His disposal is fine for the most part sometimes loses his cool under pressure and sprays it. Beautiful penetrating kick when he has time though.

Decision making is an issue but you get that a lot with young players. Watch GWS or GC and you will see kids kicking the footy to poor spots all the time.

For all the flack Hunt cops at least he had a real hot dip this past weekend and really contributed whereas Duncan went missing in a game where we really needed him to step up in the absence of Kelly, Chapman and Corey.

How can we keep playing this guy. He just makes critical errors. We only really came good last year when we got him out of the side. Just makes critical decision and skill errors. If he kicks a half decent kick towards the end when got the ball in the clear we probably win the game. I shuddeer everytime I see him get the ball. We cannot be a good side whilst he continues to get a game.
OP is an idiot. Hunt was fantastic again last night. Keeps Nicky Dal to 20 touches, kicks a couple of goals, SEVEN tackles and comes back on like a man after Lenny rearranged his face.

Nobody will ever be Lingy, but Hunt is going to be a very good run with player who can damage teams when he goes forward for a long time to come.

At one point last night he was running out of defense not far from boundary under pressure and had the composure and vision to see a free player slightly in-board and picked them out clean as a whistle. For once, it was good camera work from 7 to show it from behind.

Great judgement and execution from Hunt.
He had an excellent game. Which should surely keep the knockers at bay for at least a week.

Gotta admit I thought he was probably underperforming this year - however his last two games have been sensational and very happy to be proven wrong.

Has performed a very difficult role this year and is acquitting himself really well now and enjoying a bit more flexibility when returning to half back flank. Its getting that hard edge now too.

He's had his ups and downs as we expect for a young bloke, especially given that he has essentially been thrust into the role occupied by a club legend. Last night was a big step forward - he kept a quality player fairly quiet, won plenty of ball and most importantly, used it beautifully for the most part. And I think we are seeing a bit more of the pace we keep hearing about.

Still has a shitload of learning to do, but I think he is going about it the right way. And let's not forget that he has done a job plenty of times this year and kept a big name to a relatively low impact. If he can go forward and get a goal or two and put some pressure on his opponent to defend, as Ling did on a weekly basis, his impact goes even higher.

I also was fairly critical of him for a while. But against West Coast he seemed to really turn a corner and had a great game. Was great to see him keep it up last night. I think he has a lot to offer the club over the next few years.

Excellent game. Kep Dal Santo to only 7 kicks, few of which were damaging, kicked goals, provided run when it was his turn, and all after getting his face smacked. His decision making by foot is improving all the time and will keep improving with experience, and he is doing some great jobs on oppo players. I think we were so blessed having Ling that we have such overly high standards for our taggers, that we don't look at Poodle on his own merits and realise he is doing a very good job. Is quick and tough and brings all that you want to see in a young player. Definitely best 22 for mine, and the coaches agree.

I shudder every time I see moronic, but predictable, post like this after a loss.

Just watched the replay again - THunt was very, very good. Likely to be in the best for Geelong.

Hard at it, did his job as a tagger and kicked 2 goals. I reckon had he not got injured would hve been in the Brownlow votes.

Showing he deserves to be in the side - and will be an even better player when he has got another Pre-season and season of AFL behind him.

A quote from the "Shame file".

Average player, turn-over king. runs around in circles protecting space while his opponent towels us up. No chance for the flag with him in the team
