Some old guy with a funny beard who use to play for us said tonight on Game Day he reckons Hahn will be a late inclusion for Hooper. Said Rocket wants Saints to prepare and set up for Hooper then bring Hahn in to play both ends. I actually think theres a strong possibility this will happen but I like what Hooper brings to the team

I agree with last line, he's very quick and seemed very good in the contested ball situation. Put him down there with Grant and Hall and you have a very quick FF line. Just the sort of player you need against St K.

Lake and Williams are the biggest worries- did not look right last week.

No good being small if you dont get a kick.

Rolling the dice a bit, but he did kick a goal which seemed to inspire the team
when they were down and had a hand in one or two others in a low scoring game. If he can build on that would be very handy.

i know hahn was out of form, but i am a bit worried about hooper being in the side actually

experience is important in these games, and i just didnt see him tackle or chase hard last week , so i question his defensive side of the game , and i dont see how he is going to have an impact?

wood on the other hand has certainly the footy smarts and has had an impact in games already, against adelaide he came up with a few big plays and even last week he did too

just a bit worried about hooper

morris is a big in of course though !

I had a close eye on him and I thought he chased fairly hard, more then most others in our forward line anyway. Pretty unfortunate not to get a tackle. He's certainly quick over the first 20m, just wish he was a bit faster after that then he would have made a few tackles.

And had the ability to repeat efforts.

Last week it looked like he only had enough energy for one effort and then he was cooked. Compare this to Liam Jones who has shown in his brief stint in the 1's that he was able to give sometimes 3 or 4 chase efforts in the one piece of play.

Don't think previous finals experience should matter when picking the side.
Should always be picked on form, the only way to get experience is to play in these games. Our previous Prelim finals experience is atrocious anyway, close but not close enough.
Hahn had to be dropped, clearly out of form and has been for the majority of the season.
Been a great servant but hasn't got any quicker.
Would certainly play Everitt over Hahn, but pretty happy with the team as i think Hooper will be better for the run and allows Gia & Eagle to play more in the midfield whilst still giving us a small up forward.

It's clear Rocket wants to use Murph forward more when he can by dropping Hahn. Hopefully when he does go down there we can get it forward to him. Murph wins more contests than he loses. When Murph's up and about we look a different side.

I'm hoping Murphy starts up forward.

That's true, just goes to show the value of having a full pre season.

Hooper will have learned a lot from last week. He's clearly a very determined young man and will be disappointed he didn't have more impact. If he gets a run I expect him to improve significantly on last week.

I agree we need young blokes who will be playing for us over the next 5-10 years to get finals experience. So Hooper & Wood in the side is good. However I'm disappointed Jones didn't get a run for any of the finals (eg the QF). He played one bad game (R22) and got dropped like a hot potato.

God i hope Murphy turns it on tonight and puts on a clinic !!!

wouldnt it be great for once in a prelim if someone puts on a show and is unstoppable and WILL NOT allow us to lose, no matter what !
