Teammates that didn't like each other

Garry Hocking and Steven Hocking

They had plenty of personal issues (and still have), but neither let it affect them on gameday, which is a credit to their professionalism.

Justin Murphy and the entire Geelong team

He was disliked from the moment he walked into the club (his attitude was horrible and his sooking over leaving Carlton grated) and it ended with Murphy knocked out after a Matthew Scarlett beating.
I'm not a fan of violence, but his gross disloyalty and his antics on Mad Monday saw him well and truly deserving a bit of a slap, and Matthew Scarlett stepped up and gave the cowering Murphy a fair hiding before he toddled off back to Carlton.

I always thought it was because of his disgust over the Milburn incident. He certainly could hold his head up high that day.

No Murphy never wanted to be at Geelong in the first place, he was unwillingly traded and behaved accordingly.

I went out with a girl who was very good friends with Justin Murphy, interesting stories....

Aker and Steven Lawrence - I'm not quite sure as to why, and Akers book didnt go into specifics, but there was clearly a level of dislike from Aker towards him.

because stephen lawrence is a scum bag, ask anyone whos had the mispleasure of being in the same room drinking as him, and its not a one off incident, its every ____ing time and hes not an 18 year old kid

I recall one day two Fitzroy players had a punch on at 3 quarter time, one of them Was I think John Mcarthy, can't remember the other player's name, but I recall it looked pretty brutal at the time (I think it was when Bernie Quinlan was coach) ...

Didn't Nathan Bassett & Nigel Smart have a bit of biffo at a Crows training one day?

And who can forget Tony McGuinness whacking a Crows trainer during a match

I seem to recall Don Scott and Leigh Matthews not getting on at all - didn't even talk to each other I believe.

I don't think Chick and Embley are best buddies.

Poor old Murphy wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed. He was "apprenticed" to a pub in Richmond and try as they might to educate him in the ways of the publican he was incapable of even re stocking the beer fridge. His mum used to come to see him at work and discrace herself in a way that made it clear that the poor bloke was swimming around in the shallow end of the gene pool.

He was simple but a nice bloke, a gentle bloke, Matty Scarlett is no big man for toweling him up, poor old Murph wouldn't have even seen it coming.

Oh, and Milburn is a dirty snipper, the Carlton fans should have jumped the fence that day. Cleaning up SOS was filthy, made so much worse by Milburn clapping himself, absolute tool.

Was there something between Stuart Loewe and Nicky Winmar before the 1997 grand final? Or am I dreaming?

I very much doubt it considering Winmar's old died during the week.

I was at Mo's (stuey Loewes) bar that night for an 18th. All the St Kilda players were there and Loewe and Winmar were getting on just fine.

Barry Hall was the only one who seemed to be having problems getting on with his mates.

Scott West and Simon Cox.

Actually that was a big story that dogs never let out. Even though Westy started on the bench one game because he couldn't see straight - the media knew something was up. That's all i'll say.

Good effort by the dogs not letting this one get into the media. Just as bad as the Carey fiasco.

Please, say more. Very interesting.

Not sure about teamates, but some disputes between players and coaches became public knowledge over the years such as:

Shane Zantuck v Ron Barassi at Melbourne in 1981
Brad Hardie v Mick Malthouse at Footscray in 1986
Derek Kickett v Kevin Sheedy at Essendon in 1993
John McCarthy v Bernie Quinlan at Fitzroy in 1995
Corey McKernan v Dennis Pagan at North & Carlton in early 2000s
