Yep see that.

Following that, I do wonder if they end up losing next week. I doubt it but it's a plausible outcome based on that quote and the show's philosophy in general. Would be a good challenge for the writing team
Definitely plausible. I guess a loss would create reflection afterwards

My prediction (I assume they are playing West Ham at home as we have only seen them play each other once this season) is that they beat West Ham (Rebecca gets closure on the whole Rupert storyline) but Man City also win meaning Richmond lose the title by a point.

Yep, show reeks of them graciously losing but everyone being happy anyway haha.

It would also create the opportunity for some interesting character growth for the ex-husband
I didn't think they would go there, but seeing Jamies dad in rehab celebrating his game makes me think everyone might get a warm and fuzzy moment in this show lol

Higgins freezing in case he jinxed it cracked me up. If it wasn't Coronation Street they walked down it was very similar. The song near the end 'Fought and Lost' by Sam Ryder (featuring Bryan May) is the nearest to a Freddie Mercury ballad I've ever heard.

Mae reciting Philip Larkin was a little OTT. And Jamie and his Mum was verging on incestuous. The actress is only 12 years older than Phil Dunster.

But overall it was another brilliant episode.

Predicted earlier in the season that ted leaves at the end and nat comes back as coach. Please dont make it so. its far too predictable.

thought Ted was far too mean to his mum. he wasnt justified in what he said.

and what was with Jamie acting likely a little child. Grown men dont act like that.
Ted wasn't too mean to his mum. His previous text from her was months before - they're not close. He's said a few times that when he lost his dad he lost her too. She showed no curiosity towards his current life and only referred to his past; to his characterisation that he has since moved past. She didn't communicate at all before she arrived and didn't even say goodbye. It's not a positive relationship.

I thought the interactions between Jamie and his mother showed that because of his abusive upbringing from his father (despite his cockiness and bluster), he's still that scared little boy at heart who needs his mum.

Actually think it’s more likely Roy becomes manager with Nate preferring a less public role as a tactical coach. Fits more in line with Roy taking more pressers and admitting he’s not as good with tactics and with Nate enjoying working as a waiter. We’ll see.

Whatever it is ,it’s most likely one of those two options, both of which you’ll probably decry as being too predictable. In the meantime we’ll await your upcoming pilot.

Wow those last two episodes were fantastic

The Mum episode brilliant

I’m at the same age bracket as Ted and it all rang true; the Bar Ladies observation was it lifted from somewhere else? If not it was the best piece of writing about transgenerational grief that I’ve heard for sometime

And Ted missing his son. Lost my shit

Fantastic end to the series

One more scenario is Ted's missus and son moving to England but I think it will round the show off better if he moves back to the States.

The main unresolved subplot is Rebecca and the fortune teller's prediction of her going to be a mother. Will she hook up with Dutchie bloke and his daughter? Or is Ms. Kakes pregnant with Rupert's baby and she gets involved with that?

They have shown a few moments lately with Sam too

Been around a while now but still true and hilarious.

"Meet Ted, he is what happens when a golden retriever humps a motivational poster and Ned Flanders pops out".

and if Rebecca aint watching pr0n in her office then what exactly is she doing? No one walks around her desk. No one will see whats on the lap top. Yet still she is deeply concerned.

I would lose my shit if Richmond win the league title and in the celebration we see a contingent of current Tottenham players and they are praising how much of a great manager Ted is. It would being Ted Lasso back full circle to those Apple TV commercials done a few years before the series.
