Wonder what Rupert said to Nate after giving his shares back to Rebecca.

I don't think that outcome is guaranteed. He says to Rebecca that 'He had convinced Bex to give up her shares in Richmond. We'd love you to have them'. What if he's ****ing with her as usual and actually giving control of his shares to Nate?

Or maybe he is buying another club and setting up Nate as coach? My money is on this one.

I hope not. They'd be taking the audience for morons if they did.

Remember that last season Nate was just the property steward. Then got promoted to assistant coach and had one arsey win while filling in for Ted. I doubt Rupert would appoint him as coach of another team on the back of that.

I think it's going to end up being that Nate goes to a club that Rupert buys or whatever as coach, which upsets Ted greatly.
But Nate bombs massively without the culture that Ted created.

What ever happened to this being a story about a football club?

and theres no way that lassos pandemic attacks are a result of repressed memories about his father from 30 years earlier. Thats freudian rubbish that has been disproved. Why does the media continue to use freud in its story telling? its complete hogwash.

surely a better arc for his pandemic attacks would be missing his son/wife and sucking as a football coach.

seriously when is lasso going to start coping both external and internal pressure about his coaching? Unless ofcourse Rebecca is still secretly trying to lose.

What are you on about?
The memories of his father are linked to his panic attacks because he resented his father for leaving him and now he's worried he has done the same to his son.

They didnt seem to make any connection with his kid in the later episodes. it was all just about his dad. Not about him being a bad dad. But your version would make more sense. Dont think the shrink has even mentioned the relationship with his kid. She does seem fixated on repressed memories with teds dad though. Which is nonsense.

Something seems odd by that text. Why would accredited journalist like Trent Grim give up Nate's name.
If Nate is leaking him info, surely he wouldn't disclose his source and lose his insider status.

I think he did it out of respect for Ted, as he evidently didn’t think much of Nate for leaking, but he still had to run the story...

I’m hoping that they use Nate’s play in the next episode, the team gets promoted and then afterwards in a scene identical to when Nate first got promoted from kit man to assistant coach, Rebecca sacks his campaigner ass.

Also, I hate the relationship between Sam and Rebecca. Hopefully after this season they abandon that. I swear after watching season 1 that the show was going towards a Rebecca/Ted endgame but they’ve barely had any screen time this season.

I have a lot of feelings about this show.

"Son of a bitch stole my move”
A nod to Good Will Hunting there, with the patient leaving the therapist a note then legging it.

The couch photo scene was intense, one of the best of the series.

Loved the song at the end when Nate was outed by the journalist, Karma Police by Radiohead. A sign that Nate is about to cop it. He's pissed off too many people.

Season ending next week should be interesting.

How soon before Nate realises that nothing he does will impress his father? A little clunky writing that he saw Jamie's dad and should've realised how that screwed him up, but not reached the same conclusion about himself. It will likely come though. It's a big theme running through the show - relationships between parents and children.

That was one of my least favourite episodes.

The continuity of the team's on field performances is all over the place.
Keeley in Vanity Fair? She's not an up and coming business leader - she handles PR for a second tier club.
The Rebecca/Sam relationship is not only inappropriate but also jarringly unlikely.
The Nate narrative seems forced.
A journalist running a story might tip off the target - out of respect, or to get a reaction. But they would not volunteer their source like that.

On the plus side, Coach Beard's books are a feature. The first episode in S1 had him reading 'Inverting the Pyramid', which is pretty much a textbook on all football team formations that have ever existed. The latest episode, he was reading 'Entangled Life', which is mostly about the amazing world of fungus but also about the intricate co-relationships between different forms of life.
