This was one of the "extra" episodes apparently - not one which was part of the overall story set out by the showrunners, but a filler episode like the Christmas episode to make up the extra episodes ordered after the season had been written.

I realised afterwards that the reason I didn't like this ep as much was that I was hoping for a bit more insight into what Coach Beard is like, but it only left me with more questions...

The title of this week’s episode, “Beard After Hours”, appears to be a homage to an old Scorsese film, “After Hours”, which explains a lot!

It wasn't so much of a Ted Lasso episode as a Coach Beard special. The key to it was when he tells the three fans that he believes we are living in a simulation.

There's a heap of references to After Hours by Scorcese. The night time sequence with a dream-like quality. Meeting strange women in clubs. Lots of shots of keys. The lighting. After Hours itself is a homage to Kafka. Then I reckon it may have influenced The Matrix.

Loved Brett Goldstein's acceptance speech at the Emmys. "This cast makes me sick, they’re so good!"

Glad I found this as I was ready to give up on it after the last ep

The show is 100x better than it's about the soccer team with personal stuff happening throughout rather than the opposite but I still like all the episodes... other than this latest one. That was, something

Been back and watched Beard episode again and it’s fantastic. Love it.

This season reminds me of the classic “Moonlighting” from the mid 80’s and their willingness to go off narrative and explore. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn’t but why do I still remember the black and white film noir episode 35 years late? Because it challenged you to think, much like Beards episode.

It's the only Ted Lasso episode I've watched twice.

This was like the "Fly" episode in Breaking Bad. 45 mins of nothing.

Ep 10 has dropped earlier than normal. Will be staying off social media until I've had a chance to watch it

Really enjoyed season 1. Terrific, surprising. Good cast.
Thought about half way through the first ep of season 2 that it had nowhere to go, so stopped watching it then and haven’t felt the urge to go on with it.

This was a beautiful episode. The funeral scene was so lovely.

It hit a little close to home too for me as well given it's one year since my dad died this coming Monday.

When Ted starts singing along to Never Gonna Give You Up... it was a pretty emotional episode.

Aw, gee, I haven’t tagged in for a bit but I thought Coach Beard was going to be the recipient of the funeral hey.
I thought he might of died in that trip episode.
Latest episode was awesome writing.
The coalesced scribe of Ted talking about his dad and Rebecca talking about hers, was exquisite. It was very well thought and done.
