How do you guys think Kyrgios will go tonight against Isner?? Huge ask to back up last nights epic match.. Versing a bloke who is going to be serving bombs at you all day giving you very little chances? $2.00 ls okay for Isner

And here is my lack of Tennis knowledge kicking in maybe..

I always thought clay negated these types of players? Booming serves.

Also, how much emphasis is placed on long three set matches on the back up in mens tennis? Is there a statistical difference on a players ability to back up after a long 3 set match as aposed to a 5?

Not making statements just asking for knowledge.

I agree.

Remember when he had his massive win at Wimbeldon against Rafa last year? He then took on Raonic in the following round and was humble in defeat. Similar sort of circumstances here, with Federer having the same prestige as Rafa, and Isner having the same game style as Raonic.

I can see a similar scoreline to last night. Isner 7-6, 6-7, 7-6

I would think it would affect some players more than others. I'm probably stating the obvious there, but it's probably not unfair to take age into consideration, as well as whether they are suffering, or coming back from, an injury.

Kyrgios is recently coming back from an injury, but I haven't seen it affect him. He's young, so I'm sure he will be up for the challenge.

Kyrigos vs Isner a toss of a coin match for me, battle of who can win the tiebreaks
Agreed.

I got on Kyrgios and Isner in separate bets to win the first and second sets 7-6. Each was paying $4.50 with Centrebet. Slightly better odds than the $2.15 they are offering for the individual sets to go to a tiebreak.

Clay usually does slow down the big servers but that has never stopped Isner from having an almost unbeatable serve still, his clay record is fairly good. I just think this type of match is not what Kyrgios wanted after having such an epic match against Federer and big week of tennis last week, so i'm putting a unit on Isner at $2.20 :)

It was tears aplenty

Played great the first 2 sets and only needed a single point in the last to at least get the push and he just packed it in and checked out at 3am. Not a fun way to do your cash

His clay record is actually pretty poor in comparison. Only goes at 50% compared to 67% on hard courts

He wins most of his early matches due to his big serve against minnows but struggles when he starts to face some class

I was wondering what match you were talking about haha, going to do a very large bet on Ferrer against Verdasco!

Ferrer has won the last 9 times against Verdasco and i can't see the streak changing with Verdascos form and consistency going up and down like a yoyo and Ferrer being solid as a rock, can get odds @ $1.25 on betfair which i will be loading up on :)

That is true, he still has a winning record on clay, pretty sure he has won a title on the surface but obviously prefers the hard courts, doing okay so far again Kyrgios anyway :D

Not only that but Verdasco has only take 1 single set off him in those 9 matches

Exactly, odds should be lower in my opinion, just have to hope that Ferrer doesn't have an off day and Verdasco keeps up his poor form against him

You know how I would have reacted in the heat of the moment if you had informed me about what was going on in that third set...atom bomb type destruction to the Punting board. Probably best you didn't.

Right up there with one of the most impossible ways ive done my dough in a + line scenario. Brutal, glad I only put $75 on not the full $200 like I was going to.

So Isner played phenomenally well to beat Kyrgios, could have had it in straight sets! Ferrer was a lot more close in my opinion, Verdasco was being a pest and wouldn't let Ferrer win comfortably, all in all was a good night, hopefully more luck tomorrow to come :)

Clay courts are all different. Madrid is at altitude so you can still get a bit of pop. Next week in Rome the courts will be slower and heavier and suit the genuine clay courters more. A few years back when Wimbledon were slowing down the grass to get Federer Nadal finals, Karlovic said the courts at the French were quicker than at Wimbledon!

Dimitrov +4 @ $2.06
Dimitrov to win a set @ $2.30

Nadal hasn't been dominant against the top end players all season
Rio - Dropped a set to Cuevas then lost to Fognini
Indian Wells - Lost to Raonic
Miami - Lost to Verdasco
Monte Carlo - Dropped sets to Isner and Ferrer before going down in 2 to the Djoker
Barcelona - Lost to Fognini again, this time in 2

He is beating up on the bad players and struggling against any sort of class

Isner vs Berdych over 10.5 games 1st set @ $2.10 (Ladbrokes)

Only $1.76 at Sportsbet. Big value about 2 big serving players. Both play a lot of tie breaks Isner in particular, he has played 7 in his last 13 sets and 7 of his last 11 first sets.

Couple of other bets i also dont mind

Kvitova +5.5 @ $2
Kvitova to win a set @ $2.50
Ferrer vs Nishikori Over 22 games @ $1.98
Murray vs Raonic 1st Set Over 10.5 games @ $2.38
Raonic @ $2.60

Confidence levels on each bet coincide with their position top to bottom i take it?
I always worry about the 1 hand backhands against Nadals ridiculous top spin. If they're not right on top of their game they can lose pretty quickly. As was the case in their last match on clay. 6-2 6-2 to Nadal

Bit of selective choosing of stats. The 4 matches before that between them were a hell of a lot closer and all above 2 sets

Only 1 of their previous matches has really been close. Admittedly Dimitrov has taken a set off of him in all of their h2hs except for their last match but the sets Nadal has won have mostly been by 2 breaks of serve
