Toast Thank you Brad

Don't disagree, but 'window dressing' is a bit pejorative. Putting the best possible face on things, for both parties. It's a mature and responsible way to do it.
A lot of people have the masochistic urge to see the club go through some sort of purge/car crash scenario. The worse it gets, the more they can hammer on about it. This conclusion has pretty much cut that off fairly early. There's natural disappointment going to occur. It's sort of "outrage interruptus".

Yes it's interesting how people seem to think he was a volunteer so we should be thankful.

Scott has done much better out of North than North out of him.
Interesting how you imply he should have done it for free, and then you'll be grateful. Remind your boss next week will you to stop your pay.

I didn't imply that at all Brad. (sorry, i meant Istanbul Roo)

If I'd done a poor/ordinary job (like Scott) in a highly competitive, results based industry, I'd expect to be ushered out with no thanks whatsoever.

Certainly no thank you for not being good enough.

Scott should be apologetic if anything for not delivering to those who backed him in for a decade and came out empty handed.

[QUOTE="Mordecai, post: 61060287, member: 24259" Until then I'll take the bad with the good and thank him all the same.[/QUOTE]
Can you also thank him for the first game this year versus Freo.....That was a wonderful memory I will always have. Smashed by an average team because we decided to play a farked up handball and short pass game.

Well he provided stability when we had just avoided relocation.

I think we as a club did well with him at the elm.

Only the perpetually stupid forget how much of a struggle his first three years were.

No doubt he turned our club into a PROFESSIONAL organization and put it on the AFL map. It certainly wasn’t prior to his arrival!

You can remember that one whilst some of us remember the satisfying finals victories.

True. Whilst some clubs reminisce on the Grand final victories, we nmfc supporters get to enjoy 4 finals games in 10 farken years !

Yeah, bullshit. How many golden handshakes for executives who have corruptly ripped off shareholders have we seen?

Perhaps you should take your gracelessness to the Sack Scott thread. This thread is for those of us who don't want to gleefully dance on his grave

No one is "dancing on his grave".

You appear overly emotional to his sacking.

North (the club you support i assume, not Scott) will be fine.

His record is ordinary. He is just a Lion's battler and now a proven ordinary coach.

I'm thankful he's been sacked. In fact I'm excited by it.

We’re not alone there. We all know how god damn hard it is to win one of those.

Diagnosis: gratification delayitis

It's interesting as others suggest a "car crash" scenario was avoided in support of Scott.

I'd say his appointment was the "car crash".

Yeah, righto mate, the bloke's gone now, so you can ease up.

Not at all.
Scott did his best.

I'm excited for our future.

Wins not losses, a consistent level of intensity. Hard, tough players.

I like the cut of your jib AB.

Scott's main problem was that he was a poor tactician and matchday coach. Apart from that he was fine. He had some good qualities, spoke well, was passionate, and was a players coach. The respect they showed him yesterday was first class. It does mean something seeing this. Normally players lose focus, crack the shits and are wrapped when the coach eventually gets the arse. Not here. Unfortunately we lost far too many games we should have won under him. It was becoming a bad habit and trademark for our team. It nearly happened again yesterday. A new voice and clear skies as Scott stated today was simply the best way to go. It was a decent and dignified exit. Good luck to him.

I hoped he would prove us critics wrong and do a Hardwick or Buckley break out season.
Fairy tales are just that.

If i'd I ever meet him I'd thank him personally.

But having said that, the coaching clock hit midnight in 2017.
Just doing over time.

It's not his fault his strengths became his weaknesses and the administration of the club is accountable for that more then he is.

That accords 100% with my own view.
It's a shame he didn't go then, but he deserves credit for everything he did up to that point, and even beyond. After all it was up to the board to cut the strings at that time and for whatever reason they shirked it.
