News now saying he caught an Uber to the hospital, showed up pissed & nurses initially treated it as an intox job. Police called by hospital & Jack refused to cooperate or answer any questions.

Season about to launch & training kicks off on Monday. Not saying he deserved what he got (unless self defence was involved) but the details around the incident don’t paint Jack in a good picture. Sounds like a change of scenario hasn’t helped. Blokes got issues & I’m happy he’s not around our young & impressionable players.

I wish Jack well and hope he gets the help he needs as it appears possible that a change of scenery has not helped significantly.

I do have to wonder though whether he’ll ever play another game.

Do the police even have the right to question him (he was the guy stabbed) and should the media be allowed to report it - it wouldn't help his mental state / sounds a bit like everyone sticking there nose in to everyone's private life - a bit like Laidley.
The club should of tried to keep the papers out of his problems and hooked up the specialists he needs before the police and media got to him , he did go to Geelong to help with his mental health matters.

The guy just needs space

Can’t agree with any of that
Jack needs to help himself and take some responsibility

If there’s some campaigner going around stabbing other campaigners then it’s in the public’s interest to find the campaigner before he stabs another campaigner I would’ve thought. Regardless if Jack is protecting himself or someone else he’s being a selfish campaigner IMHO.

Of course the media should be able to report it.

Whether he likes it or not being a highly paid, high performing AFL player makes him a public figure and when public figures turn up at a hospital at 1am after being stabbed and wont talk to the police, it is absolutely newsworthy and fair game to report.

You do realise the police just can't ignore a stabbing and its an investigation. Probably more to the story too.

Plus the media can report what they want in an open and free democracy like they can chose to do with any other stabbing.

And yes, at the end of this he needs help and time away from footy obviously.

In situations like this we have to look at motive, or 'who has most to gain' from stabbing stuv.. frankly all my trails are leading to one suspect.. gary ablet junior. He knows a fit stuv forces him out of the team and he's not about to let that happen. I dunno about you but Gaz always had a bit of a stabby face don't ya think? A little wild in the eyes, doing the lords bidding, and so on

(also, before you come down on me with your think of the family angle, stuv is alive and safe and is no way any of the above derogatory towards him. Besides, they probably appreciate me speaking truth about gary 'the butcher' ablett)

Pretty sure they said they aren’t looking for anyone so it’s a private matter. That is where it will end. Don’t think it’s selfish at all
 
What was he doing so far from Geelong?

All we heard during the trade window was that he couldn't function outside of the greater Geelong area and that driving 90 mins to training in Moorabbin was so crippling that we simply had to give him up for SFA.

Sadly it’s not that easy when you have mental problems, everything one does at the time seems to be the right logical choice.
