That skinny kid called Grant on a half forward

Since he has started playing seniors this year, i've been really pleased with him. The only thing letting him down is his set shots on goal. Gradually as he goes on, he's gonna be a gun forward. Good set of hands, quick, thinks smart, etc.

Richo's goal accuracy compares favourably to most forwards of his era.
The poor kicking was largely a myth perpetuated by the highlights reel.

Exactly. Because the camera loved to watch him crack the shits.

What position do people hope Grant will end up playing. Whilst he is still reasonably skinny I wouldn't mind if he kept similar physical attributes but just got better at his role.

Or would people rather he bulk on the KGs and try to become more power forward.

He is a full-forward, go-to man. Not the same as a power forward, but with better marking ability. Fevola style.

Those stats are based on simple goals and behinds...they don't include balls on the full or that fall short when he sprayed them.
Again, occurrances that were far less regular than the highlights reel suggest.

Noticed Merlin was on the Sunday footy show today in the handball. I missed him handballing (did he win it) and missed the first 30 minutes of the show (was he a guest)

Granty won the handball (last of the first round) but he wasn't a guest on the panel or anything. I am usually a lurker here but have to say I am very excited by this boy and look forward to his continuing improvement.

GO DOGS!

Four to half time vs Essendon. Too fast for Courtney Dempsey, too good in the air for Hocking(?).

But there's no doubt in my mind that he's already in our best 22. One day soon it's all going to fall into place for him and he'll kick 4-5 goals as well as the other good stuff he already does.

Bump.
He's arrived. Yes, it was a weak team and a weak defensive opponent (Hardingham) but he certainly told the football world tonight that he has a future.

A real credit to him after his horrendous start last year.

Let's hope he takes a lot of confidence into the QF.
