Wait.... I think we are turning the Winty award into something it's not.
My understanding is that we should be looking at posts that completely contradict themselves, make them look like fools and get laughed at by all other people in the human race.

A few suggestions in here, like your last one Bloben, are just statements that are made by Collingwood haters. His opinion is that Buckley is arrogant.... I bet you could find that same opinion from 80% of people on Big Footy.

Should I win a Carlton stupidity award by stating that they are 'cheats'? You'd end up with 90% of the board co-winning the thing.

All of the nominees so far have some merit but none truly exhibit the outstanding "self ownership" which the Winty's were created to celebrate.

The real winners reside within the Luke Ball thread which was so hastily deleted from the main board.

I here and now implore the mods to ask Chief if there is any way these "blockbusters" can be retrieved from the dark recesses of Bigfooty for the purposes of this award. The three most fitting nominees were in this thread.

In the event that a truly worthy winner is not found I propose the Winty is not awarded.

I would hate the Winty to become sullied like the Academy Awards with Oscars handed out every year as a matter of course even if the nominees are not even up to TV standards.

It simply cheapens the award and lessens the acheivement of deserving winners.

I do love self ownage from trolls and if anyone sees this then please lets post them here. Saying that though, if everybody waited for a "winty" type situation then this thread will likely be forgotten in the archives of bigfooty.

Let us use this thread to not only give the "Winty" to those who are most deserving by self ownage trolling, but to also celebrate the troll by also using it to report back to us Collingwood board members the somewhat comical beliefs and opinions of the great unwashed.

I think that one is the clubhouse leader with a day to go! Only a muppet like The General could criticise Hine of all people for finalising his draft board based on BigFooty. The bloke barracks for a team whose recruiter is Wayne Hughes, the guy who picks based on consensus every year. He took Yarran, Robinson and O'Keefe in 2008, and then Joe Dare and Josh Donaldson in the 2009 rookie draft. Hughes is completely lost unless he has pick #1 each year, and can therefore make his decision based upon the HUN articles coming out prior to the draft. LOL.

Every carlton player that has shown didley squat at AFL level, has massive potential or upside. The classic fall back when you don't have AFL stats to support an argument.

Always bags Hine but deep down he/she knows Hughes is a dud.

Hine has had a worse picks then Hughes since he came on board in 2004 yet carlton are yet to finish ahead of us and they snared Chri$ Judd, albeit no longer the WCE dynamo.

According to him/her Hampson has more upside then Kurt Tippett That's why since recruiting Hampson, carlton have also drafted Kreuzer and traded for Warnock. Yeh real confident in Hampson making it.

Hughes is gradually putting a Dogs type team together without the skill or speed.

Well after the available votes have been tallied, I can announce that our first Winty winner for 2010, and hence our newest admission to the Order of the Winty, is TheGeneral, for this laughable effort.

Don't let facts get in the way of a poor troll.

Sidebottom is just 13 days younger than Yarran who kicked 39 goals in 13 WAFL games.

Kane Lucas and Dustin Martin are just six and five months older than Yarran.

Sidebottom and Beams are about as likely to be superstars as Cloke, Anthony, Swan, O'Bree, Shaw, Ball, Maxwell and Pendlebury.

The Pies are a well coached and well drilled team, yet they have stuff all elite talent to help them go all the way when it matters.

Like ye olde explorers and philosophers who insisted the world was indeed flat, TheGeneral would have us believe that Derek Hine is more a colour-by-numbers recruiter than his/her/it's own Wayne Hughes. I doubt even Winty himself would fall for that one.
