Wait.... I think we are turning the Winty award into something it's not.
My understanding is that we should be looking at posts that completely contradict themselves, make them look like fools and get laughed at by all other people in the human race.
I agree strongly with both these sentimonies.I think generally the self contradiction ones will win anyway, because self ownage is always a good laugh.
If it makes you feel any better, Pie eyed, I've proposed in the OP a "hierarchy" of sorts for monthly Winty winners.
Monthly winners - admitted to the Order of the Winty
Top three (out of twelve) monthly winners at year's end - granted the Companion to the Winty Award and admitted to the Winty Hall of Fame
Top post for the year - awarded the Winty of the Year, and named to the Hall of Fame as a Winty Legend.
If only we had a venue in which to display the "Winty" winner over the decades.
Do you reckon Ed might consider a small area at the club for "Winty's"??
His Aunty would be faster than Sidebottom and the rest of your mids.
If we had your overpaid and overrated spud recruiters, we'd draft flash in the pans like Dale Thomas because they played well in the TAC Cup final.
Derek Hine finalises his rankings by looking at BF's draft board and Inside Football
Collingwood were the only finalist who didn't have a superstar or future superstar on their list.
He was always going to make an appearance. Inevitable really.
I think that one is the clubhouse leader with a day to go! Only a muppet like The General could criticise Hine of all people for finalising his draft board based on BigFooty. The bloke barracks for a team whose recruiter is Wayne Hughes, the guy who picks based on consensus every year. He took Yarran, Robinson and O'Keefe in 2008, and then Joe Dare and Josh Donaldson in the 2009 rookie draft. Hughes is completely lost unless he has pick #1 each year, and can therefore make his decision based upon the HUN articles coming out prior to the draft. LOL.He was always going to make an appearance. Inevitable really.
I'd like an avenue to extract the urine from the winner, but we ought to avoid trolling on opposition boards. Maybe a note in our sigs to acknowledge the worst post of the month?
I have 5 lots of votes, still need Optimax, Didaka and King Woodie.
What about a running Honour Board in Bay 13?
An open invite for a flood of lunacy.
Next years selection for the "Grand Winty" will take 4 weeks to compile and 6 weeks to wade through and judge.
Like ye olde explorers and philosophers who insisted the world was indeed flat, TheGeneral would have us believe that Derek Hine is more a colour-by-numbers recruiter than his/her/it's own Wayne Hughes. I doubt even Winty himself would fall for that one.His Aunty would be faster than Sidebottom and the rest of your mids.

Don't let facts get in the way of a poor troll.
Sidebottom is just 13 days younger than Yarran who kicked 39 goals in 13 WAFL games.
Kane Lucas and Dustin Martin are just six and five months older than Yarran.
Sidebottom and Beams are about as likely to be superstars as Cloke, Anthony, Swan, O'Bree, Shaw, Ball, Maxwell and Pendlebury.
The Pies are a well coached and well drilled team, yet they have stuff all elite talent to help them go all the way when it matters.
