As for the constant bleating about Liverpools history, you keep your history, everyone else will worry about the future.

Realistically, if Suarez had an option of going to Chelsea last winter he would have. Right now, he might hold on because the scousers are in their annual pre-season delusion that they are one of the big boys in the hunt for silverware. But in another year of no silverware, and no Europe he'll also be looking for a move I reckon.

We're moving forward just like you are. I like these petty responses about our history. Pretty sure you would love it if citeh had one. On the matter about the future it's rather funny coming from one of you lot. So far your future has cost more than the net spend of united, liverpool and arsenal combined over the last 20 years and all you have got to show for it is an FA cup and finally scraping into the CL. You would think a few hundred mil would buy more.

Ha ha, we have a fantastic history. It may not appeal to JCLs and glory hunters, but they wouldn't understand what makes clubs like City tick.

Have we? I doubt it.

Funny Liverpool supporters never used to care about how much clubs were spending when they were spending more than anyone.

The FA Cup was brilliant, as was our 3rd placing. But it's just the beginning hopefully.

I understand what makes you click. Same thing that makes Chelsea click, at least they got something for it.

The funny thing is that you show a complete lack of understanding of your own clubs history, and what investment did for them as a football club.

Or did your history only start when you began to win things too?

I think you will find City will as well mate. As much as it pains me, like Chelsea, they will win things. It took Chelsea a settling down period after a heavy initial spend also, so I don't think City expected to win the League this season. A cup and 3rd was a pretty fair effort.

Also, again, not liking to side with the bitters, but history is not just about winning, sometimes failure and triumph can give you a rich history. I say this as someone who loved United history prior to the 90's, even if it was not littered with silverware.

Two penneth....fwiw.

And on which players have you outbidded those clubs?

i haven't even been in charge for a year man, and already y'all want to imply i can't compete with the new age big boys? y'all seen my red sox? just wait till we get into a bidding war for someone we want! yeehaw!!

Gee you can't win with you and your twin GB. First all we have is history, then it's not important, then recent history is and now we dont know enough about it! Make up your mind boy.

Did I say we didn't outspend clubs? Sure we did and it helped us but I see a big difference between that and the spending being 500% or more than the other clubs(excluding Chelsea ). You may think it's the same but that's just my opinion.

500%, stop making up figures.

And when did I say history wasn't important?

Hardly making up figures. In 09/10 your net spend was greater than the other 19 teams combined. You actually had less net than the year before at 100 million pounds, so fair is fair the others spent less that season.

Same season Villa had the next largest net spend of 18.5 million. So yes I was wrong with 500%, it was actually 540%.

Now our numbers are not impressive compared to lack of success over the last 20 years either but please be my guest and show where we spent anything like that compared to rivals. People get easily confused when they see the likes of Arsenal, United and us spending on tranfers(even me this year) but a large % is from sales of other players. Some examples like this should be used to stop stupid spending in football.. the worst thing to happen was for Chelsea to actually win 'buying' silverware. The rest of the big spenders(although not anywhere near the big 2) over the last 5 years such as Villa, Spurs, Sunderland and us have little to show for it.

Young Mexican striker Antonio Pedroza claims a deal has been agreed for him to join Tottenham from Jaguares in his homeland.

The 20-year-old, who has previously had spells on trial with Arsenal and Chelsea, was born in England and still has family in this country.

Pedroza was reported to be in the frame for inclusion in England's squad for the Under-20 World Cup in Colombia this summer, but did not make the 21-man squad.

His contract with Jaguares expired this summer and he elected against signing a new deal when the opportunity of a move to join Harry Redknapp's side emerged.

"I can announce that my transfer to Tottenham has been arranged," Pedroza said.

Who? I have been out of the loop for the last 5-6 months to be honest with travelling.

Great to see the 2-3 key, big name signings are going ahead Harry. great way to show Modric we mean business.

And wait... we get rid of dos Santos, then bring in this guy?

You are saying you have been out of the loop and admit you don't know this player yet you are criticizing the deal??

Ah right, you're now talking about one season only.

Can't even be bothered checking your figures, totally irrelevant.

Surely spending is only stupid when it's spending money that you can't afford. As it happens, of course the likes of Arsenal, Man United and to a lesser extent Liverpool are gong to recoup more on sales. We come from a starting point where we just didn't have players in the squad that were worth anything. In time that will change.

the worst thing to happen was for Chelsea to actually win 'buying' silverware.

Every premier league title winner has bought their silverware.

Let me clarify, I meant I am out of the loop as in I didnt hear him linked with us before that article saying he has joined the club - thats not 'criticizing the deal'.... is it? Way to jump the gun there Borgsta.

he doesn't seem like a mancini type of defensive signing.
he'll give speed going forward but for a manager who places the right emphasis on stability and organisation at the back, it really doesn't make sense.

either way - liverpool beat madrid, city and united to suarez. the thought that city have any chance, in any sort of battle for his signature against liverpool is absurd.
moomba is on the reef again.
