Yes I agree we should sort out actually problematic areas, Samba would be a good buy. Proven in the EPL.

Coentrao has come out and said he will only move to us. Personally im not sure we should get him, more so at the prices that are floating about. Marcelo has just had his best season, his defensive game has improved a lot and he is still quite young.

If your mob's willing to buy Sahin and Altintop, I'm sure Mourinho would have no problem buying some extra depth at left-back. Wouldn't be that bizarre anyway, Marcelo and Arbeloa are your only options there and it's not even Arbeloa's natural position.

Downing is set to sign with Liverpool today, his agent and Stuart are in Liverpool to perform a medical. Transfer Fee was agreed at 11 million. Commolli and Dalglish are set to hold a press conference at around 8pm (AEST).
Also, Tottenham put in a 18m bid for Falcao which I believe has been rejected. Porto want 28m, for him. Tottenham value him at 23m from what I here.

Modric doesn't take our penalties and tends to play in a deep midfield role. To use goals as a comparison between the players is just ****ing stupid.

He isn't a goalscorer and I would love him to add it to his game tbf but he doesn't play there. Either way completely different type of players.
I agree that Modric has become a very good footballer lately, but he still isn't quite at the same level as Fabregas.
They play different positions anyway. Modric would play where Wilshere does in our team and Fabregas would play where VDV plays in you team. Which shouldn't be the case, as Fabregas is that sort of player.
He should be playing deeper and using he best abilities though.
Anyway, Fabregas is just better. But if he doesn't get his act together and actually start playing football, then I wouldn't be surprised if in the near future he quite suddenly isn't the best CM in north london.

Modric was the best CM in the league for me this year but Fabregas has a higher ceiling and can be more damaging when he turns it on. Id say if Fabregas is worth 50M Modric would be close probably 40-45M.

My point was moreso that people forget how good Cesc is at his best which we rarely saw this season. You're comparing them based on one season.
Modric is a gun but Cesc is on another level at his best.

How about considering the fact that Modric is extremely consistent and was giving us top performances all season, whereas Fabregas (and all the other Arsenal players) let a Carling Cup final loss break his heart and ruin his form.
