Shaun Burgoyne is South Australian (Mallee Park FC, Port Lincoln). Peter is Territorian - albeit having played for SA in the final state-based Origin game.

Father is from Port Lincoln way and Mother from Darwin.
I think Peter may have played a season of Junior footy for Saint Mary's and I don't believe Shaun did.
Many Territorians are claimed as it's own but many actually aren't.
If someone spends more than 2 hours stop over at the airport most media outlets claim them as Territorian.

played for West Perth in the WAFL during the 1960s and 70s. A ruckman, Dempsey played a total of 343 games for the club before retiring in 1976.
Dempsey joined West Perth from Darwin, winning their best and fairest award in 1966 and a Simpson Medal in 1969. He was a member of premiership teams in 1969, 1971 and 1975.


For VFL afficionardos the club most (un)successful in getting him to Melbourne was Footscray. Had success at CHB too.

Cyril could technically qualiy for Victoria if the rules were modernised.

As he spent a fair portion of his time at Scotch.

Only IF the rules are modernised. As it is, while he boarded and attended Scotch College, his legal place of residence (where he returned to during school holidays), remained his family home in the NT.

There's no doubt Peter Burgoyne grew up in Darwin. Shaun is SA Though. I played Juniors in Darwin against Peter until he got sent to Port Magpies.
