I had to google 'early Acolyte reviews' after that post and the top entries were 'early reviews for Acolyte relentlessly positive'. Kept scrolling down and it was the same theme (all from late May, for the record, when the screenings were held).Doomcock?
On the flipside, I clicked on a Star Wars post while on Facebook a while back and now keep getting these prompts for articles and there are legit people out there screaming into the void about how Headland is ruining Star Wars, claiming she's an acolyte of Harvey Weinstein because she worked as an assistant while young etc, just horrid stuff. All because she said don't be racist or bigoted. I find it harder and harder to deny that Star Wars fans are the worst.

And I'm bailing out of this thread to avoid spoilers. I'm living regional for another month and have a tiny TV screen, I wanna watch it on my big screen at home, smash through them in the week leading up to the finale.

Going into this with an open mind, but I have absolutely zero expectations..

That sort of thing doesn't overly bother me considering that would have no impact on their performances, although the writer knowing nothing isn't great if they want to capture the themes and essence of a franchise they know nothing about.

I don't mind it. Not perfect but enjoyable. Laid the ground work for some good ideas, but it looks like it's going to be like some of the other Disney/Marvel shows that they'll stretch a 3-4 episode arc over 6-8 episodes.
I wish they committed more to the thriller genre, I think trying to commit to too many ideas might undo it in the end.
No surprise that the usual cohort that looked at the cast and decided they weren't going to like it, ended up review bombing/ not enjoying it.
