Fantastic first ep. Right balance if humour and action, cgi and practical effects. Loved the neimodians and trade fed appearance. Interesting plot too.

Enjoyed it overall. Decent mystery unfolding. Had to rewind a couple of moments and put subtitles on to ensure I captured the correct dialogue.

I liked the reference to “In the name of the galactic senate of the republic, you’re under arrest”. Nice nod to Palpatine’s arrest.

I'm liking it so far. Has potential. Isn't perfect, but what is?
A few things...
1. Not thrilled with the acting
2. Tobin's beard was too fake - took me out of the moment
3. The names are too close.. Yord/Yoda, Sol/Solo, Carlac/Saarlac
4. I picked the twin thing almost immediately after Osha was introduced
5. Disappointed to have someone like Carrie on board, just to have her killed in the opening scene
6. The Yord character seems out of place and the padawan has set him up as being incompetent or something, which seems out of place for a Jedi
7. The dark master mystery seems to be getting set up as a Palps-style hiding in plain sight type thing

Going into this with an open mind, but I have absolutely zero expectations..
Same. Watched the 1st 2 episodes and its ok

Its no great shakes and ( to me a 60+ ) felt like a teen show rather than adult mostly

Some very easily spotted plot hooks in the 1st 2 shows

And yes the line was used. And the cantina

I'll keep watching

I think one of the things that resonates so much with me with this show is that it's very clearly not shot in the Volume so feels much grander than any of Filoni's shows. I'd put this a clear rung below Andor, but still feels more 'legit' than any of Filoni's efforts.

yes was surprised she was killed off in the opening scene. However given she featured heavily in the promotional tour for this series, I’m guessing there’s going to be more screen time coming, flashbacks etc.

For point 7, its more likely Darth Plaguis. Too early in the timeline for Palpatine.

Wasn't suggesting that it was Palps, just that it looks/feels like it's going to be similar to Senator Palpatine/Emperor where the bad guy is among us and hiding in plain sight.

It was a fun first couple of episodes. Probably should have launched with a 3 episode premiere to get us really hooked in. Found all the characters intriguing with some great action sequences. Some good, weighty performances too. Looking forward to seeing where it goes.

“Who is He?”

“I thought he was with you!”

Gold!

Not the most exciting start and there are a couple of niggles that annoyed me (let's send two Jedi to arrest the Jedi killer but then put her on a big prison spaceship with 3 crappy droids), but there's potential here. Sol seems interesting and old Squid Game master plays it well. I'm interested enough to want to know what's going on and why Sol was insisting May was dead even though clearly all 4 of the Jedi she was hunting know otherwise. So it's main premise has hooked me which is good.

They 100% shouldn't've given away the 3rd Jedi was a Wookiee until that end scene revealed him though. Obvious missed moment for me.

Easily my favourite character, cast perfectly and such a good range.

probably the low point for me, to not even disarm or restrain the prisoners in those cells. In addition to the Jedi choosing not to escort the ship back. Unnecessarily poor scene.

We watched the first two episodes, and from a story POV, I liked it despite the obvious flaws. However, the way the show was presented on my 4K TV at times was subpar—grainy and a bit out of focus. The CGI was off in parts. It wasn't every scene, but it happened more than it should. I don't think this series will ever be considered great SWs, and it's definitely no Andor in terms of writing and acting. I will watch it through to the end to see how it develops, but I'm not expecting much. 4/10 for the first 2 episodes.

Oh, and I thought I'd never see a fat Jedi. These people are supposed to be about self-discipline, right?

Is your suggestion that people are only fat because they have no self-control?
