Bloody hell.I'm not unhappy, again you've misunderstood. I was saying that no more acolyte meaning no plagueis show, isn't what I consider a huge loss.

Cutting out all characters created by Lucas arbitrarily is ****ing dumb if it's done without nuance or reason. It's just as dumb as having characters constantly cameo in each other's shows when they don't need to. There's such a thing as a balanced approach.Plagueis is one of those ideas that people say they want but is probably better in theory than action. He’s intriguing because he’s only hinted at in the movies and sounds badass, plus there’s a generally well liked book that runs off the reader’s imagination. I’m not convinced any kind of TV show or movie would be able to get the tone right or deliver a satisfying story. Could end up a real Book of Boba Fett rather than an Andor.
As for original ideas, absolutely they should be looking for more original ideas rather than constantly leaning on characters we liked from earlier movies. edgie is not wrong there. Of course, there’s room for both. Ideally, movies should be original ideas that hint at familiar events or times, while legacy characters and ideas could be streaming events.
That’s why I never want to see a Yoda origin story or exploration of his species/homeworld.Plagueis is one of those ideas that people say they want but is probably better in theory than action. I don’t need to know that they live in pineapples under the sea.
That seems like an extreme interpretation of Edgie’s point of view. He just said we don’t need a movie or show for every character referenced in earlier films. Which is fair. I remember at the beginning, when it seemed like there were origin films in place for Yoda, Boba Fett, Lando, Solo etc. It seemed like too much. I was against the Solo movie because I thought the role was too iconic to recast, at least at that time. Some could work, but you have to be judicious about which characters you lean in on. Maybe Plagueis is one of those that would work, maybe not.Cutting out all characters created by Lucas arbitrarily is ****ing dumb if it's done without nuance or reason. Thats not what he said. I clarified and he said we don't need shows of any Lucas characters, whether seen or unseen. That seems like an extreme interpretation of Edgie’s point of view. Interesting take SM.I tend to find with a lot of this stuff that if people like a product - e.g. Andor - then 'woke nonsense' is ignored (Andor is heavily political, has openly gay characters and a non-white lead), but if people don't engage with a product, then they blame their dislike of it on 'wokeness' rather than critically assessing why they don't like something. Essentially something like Andor was facing an uphill battle for the start, and such was its appeal that it overcame this issue.
Something like Skeleton Crew, by contrast, has a white male lead and somehow I suspect it won't be viewed quite so critically.
It's not cutting out ffs, it's just not making them the centrepiece of an unnecessary 'fill in the gaps' show.Cutting out all characters created by Lucas arbitrarily is ****ing dumb if it's done without nuance or reason. Nah man, Jack has definitely understood more clearly than you did.Thats not what he said. I clarified and he said we don't need shows of any Lucas characters, whether seen or unseen.
Quoting oneself, cringe.Interesting take SM.

Something like Mon Mothma in Andor is totally fine. Luke showing up in Mando 2 was fine. A new show with someone like Plagueis is not needed, and probably won't be good either. If something is gonna be mediocre or worse, do it to original characters and concepts. If something is gonna be good, then it's also better for the future of Star Wars for it to be original characters and concepts.

OmfgHow the **** was Plagueis the centrepiece of The Acolyte?
Depends what direction it takes. If it's gonna get made then it's gonna get made regardless of my opinion believe it or not.You said you didn't want stories about Lucas characters, not even ones mentioned in his work. So I presume you won't be watching Ahsoka season 2, since that's a show literally devoted to a Lucas created character.
What do you mean if it gets made?Depends what direction it takes. If it's gonna get made then it's gonna get made regardless of my opinion believe it or not.
If they focus primarily on the new galaxy with Baylan, Ahsoka, and hot chick, then I would be interested as even with Ahsoka, it's a fresh start.
If they bring it back to normal galaxy with Erza and Sabine then interest will be low.

Dear God this is painful. I'll just circle back to weird hill and leave it there.Omfg
He wasn't
The argument was that acolyte being cancelled is bad because now we won't get more Darth plagueis or Darth plagueis series.
I was totally ok with no Darth plagueis series.

You're the one making strange point after strange point. If you didn't mean what you wrote then be clearer. What I mean is, depends which direction it takes, and whatever direction that is, it will have nothing to do with me.
Ffs you're taking everything so literal, even Jack understood me but you insist on being deliberately obtuse.
