That's a false equivalency.
It's fine to remember bad historical events, but they should be kept as history, not dominating the current and future policies and certainly not sport.
We don't demand that Turkey or Indonesia say sorry or demand compensation decades later. We've moved on.

No. We keep those kind of politics outside of sport. Aboriginal race relations have no place in AFL as well - whether that be players doing war dances or fans booing. Save it for Q&A.
I think the big mistake in the whole thing is Goodes receiving his Australian of the Year award while still playing. Mark Taylor, Steve Waugh and Pat Rafter didn't receive the honour until after they retired. The award sadly brought politics into the sport.
