"Accountable" is the wrong term in this situation. Noone should be held accountable for the actions of another, unless they were complicit to that action.

However, there's no problem in acknowledging the acts of another. For example, if my father committed a crime against another person, I'd have no problem in saying "Im sorry my father did that to you". Thats not me being accountable, thats me acknowledging that what my father did was wrong, and that I dont condone his actions. It's conciliatory.

In the case of GR, I think it would be reasonable for her to say words to the affect that she does not agree with the comments of her father and does not run her business with the same moral viewpoint. Pulling her funding, without any acknowledgement of the reasons for the players' concerns, is just obnoxious. The indigenous player's hesitation is reasonable, her team mates' support is valid, acknowledgement would have been conciliatory.

What I have a problem with is the way NA went about it. There was a real opportunity to nip this in the bud and achieve a positive outcome. Unfortunately for them, jumping to the moral high ground with the usual outrage has just led to them biting the hand that feeds them.
