There's also no reason for the "NMFC" to be there. We know that they're the North Melbourne Football Club, that's what they're called – it's not like they're still trading as the Kangaroos.

"SMFC" (and similar) – different story. Happy for that to stay, even if the back of the guernsey might look crowded.

I agree completely, and I hope this puts to an end clubs crowding the neck of their jumpers with pointless initials.

It's like when every club decided to tack their recently designed logos on the breast of their jumper for no identifiable reason. Excluding St Kilda, which has been doing this since 1932, of course.

It's become passe and tacky.

Like how St Kilda are really the only club who should have an emblem on their jumper. Because they always have. They'd look wrong without it. The Cats maybe at a stretch considering they've had it for ten years. But aside from that it's just superfluous and cluttered.

You can buy em from the tigerland superstore now too. Full match spec (same as players)

Still looks crap.
At least it has the lack outline now.
I hate that it's going to be a permanent thing :( **** Andy D and his obsession with American shit
Isn't he leaving soon? So it may not be a permanent thing, depending on his successor

"American" more like "Almost every major sports league on the planet"

Sorry to quote myself, but:

Not to mention that Americans do sport better than anyone. The AFL should basically be aiming to emulate the NFL in as many ways as possible, because the NFL is best run sports league in the world. It's 100% fair in the fixturing, it has a world leading draft and salary cap system, and it's presentation, both live and on TV is the best of any sport in the world.

Why are there no stripes at the bottom of this hawks guernsey ? and what is the little logo on the top ?

The logo on the hawks jumper looks like the robot hawk from the 80s.
