Jordan Lewis can be a bit that way, though his are usually contested possessions/clearances so not so much. Has an impact but probably gets more stats than his impact is.
They are?

Players like Rockliff and Scott Thompson probably fit this criteria. Doesn't necessarily render them useless though of course; it's just that their work is not noticeably or directly leading to much scoring. They are two of my favourite players though, regardless.

Lewis is averaging more clearances and contested possessions than Rockliff this year (though not Scott Thompson), so I'm going to say yes, his posessisons are often contested/clearances. I agree, while their influence is less flashy, it's still valuable and what makes them very likable players. Rockliff would be my favourite player outside the NMFC.

Most capable of pretty high level football but generally your not that worried if these guys get 30+ when coming up against them.

Cyril's job made a lot easier when he can do no wrong in the eyes of the umps. That shoulder charge on Enright (I think) in the 3rd wiping him out of the marking contest and allowing cyril to waltz into the open goal was just horrendous.

Can't recall what you mean. There was a nice side on bump that won him position though. You can't be referring to that though, as that was just great body work...........so as they "back to the video tape" for me.

He's been a bit out of form this year, while you're not wrong that his stats can sometimes lie he is a classy, classy player when he is on. You don't win a B&F in a premiership year if you're the anti-Cyril.

People saying rockliff honestly dont watch his games. Im not saying he is our most dangerous player but some one has to get the ball. Had a big impact on the game last night and his forward 50 entries are very good.

Must be looking at the pill when contesting for it. His eyes were on the man as he charged Enright down. Free kick every other day of the week

Think of it as running back to spoil a mark and they don't have eyes on the ball at all, it's a free kick. Same thing

Ok, haters aside

it's clear that Cyril is the player who's effect on games is far greater his possession count in stats.

So who are the opposite
?

Big stats, no impact ?

Tom Mitchell is my vote

Who is yours ?
Did you watch the game? Tom Mitchell was the primary reason we beat the Pies. He was one of our only mids who could effectively hit a target with a handball or kick.

Laying shit on a 22-year-old kid who is playing his first complete season? Dumb thread.

Matt rosa. Own's this thread.

Bradd Dalziell for one of the all time (not because having such a good career but by how bad his disposal was coupled with how lsow and high his kicks were as an almost purely outside player).
