He was pretty damaging actually, beautiful kick on both sides. Finished with 171 goals too. Racked up a lot of meaningless handballs though, but his kicking was sublime.

He's never going to be an outside running, goal-kicking mid. His only job is to get the ball and get it out of congestion to our team's advantage. His disposal efficiency is better than Parker, Kennedy, Hannebery, K Jack and he's the highest per game tackler for us. I'm not saying he can't improve but for his age he is developing very nicely.

His impact on games may not be as obvious as Delicious Rioli but people will always notice a dashing run, speccy mark, snap goal more than a solid clearance-saving tackle.

Bradd Dalziell for one of the all time (not because having such a good career but by how bad his disposal was coupled with how lsow and high his kicks were as an almost purely outside player).

Scott Thompson from Adelaide is like 3rd in the AFL for clearances per game, if you want a Crows player who struggles for impact from a ton of possessions it's probably Matt Crouch.

Lewis is averaging more clearances and contested possessions than Rockliff this year (though not Scott Thompson), so I'm going to say yes, his posessisons are often contested/clearances. I agree, while their influence is less flashy, it's still valuable and what makes them very likable players. Rockliff would be my favourite player outside the NMFC.

NVM the fact Rocky has been rubbed out of 2 or 3 games (one game within the first 5 minutes).... plus coming back from injury always takes a while to get going again.

Has had a very good year though.

His defensive pressure looks worse because he is playing with the master of defensive pressure(Poppy). Agree with To Mitchell being ineffective but racking up the stats.

I thought the anti-Cyril would be a player who does lots of good things that go unmentioned by the commentators (as opposed to them creaming themselves every time Cyril gives off a standard handball).

Rockliff , Priddis etc all do alot of inside work so I don't think they really fit the criteria. Same with Tom Mitchell.

I think it has to be the outside players that get a heap of the ball but don't do any damage but just rack up the cheap possessions. So my nomination is Stanton.

Nobody in the comp runs harder towards the boundary line when the opposition kicks it out on the full so he can take the kick. It looks like he is supposed to be that all important link up player going forward but instead he spends the majority of his time running down back and for a cheap mark and chip sideways.

Gee people dislike players from their own club getting a mention!! there's several of these players in every squad.

Stratton is one that comes to mind for the hawks..... he could have 70 disposals, and not be all that damaging. But for him, its more about his defensive efforts than getting a stat in the K, H, M columns.
