Speculated on earlier in the year. Now official.

Sounds like one more season of AFLW (Aug-Nov) and then joins us for preseason 2023.

fighting and being drunk when in concussion protocols should result in more than 1 game, but i guess those in club suspensions always reflect how important the player is to the club
Yeah piss weak. Wonder if their next three games were against North Melbourne, Essendon and WCE. He might’ve gotten three.

I had no idea that we’ve got a new commencement period for the next season. Probably Foxtel and the league figured Kayo were losing lots of customers between the end of the AFL Grand Final and the start of the AFLW season, usually in January.

Think it's more about giving them a proper season length.

It will still be a 10-game home and away campaign but followed by a traditional top 8.

I reckon we will see gradual increases in the number of games annually.

I thought it was more about them not playing/training through the heat of summer? And more synergy with the AFL season.

Could very well be wrong on that.

Good point too. Playing the season in the middle of summer was ridiculous when the season could have always been played within the AFL season and just have games as curtain raises to the mens compeition.

August to November works.

That's surprising, I thought they were talking about elongating the season. 10 game season with 18 clubs is dumb.

Going to throw an absolute curveball of a statement here which is not based on any rumour I have heard and just a wild guess, but one is feasible

Ken Hinkley will coach North Melbourne in 2023
Nathan Buckley to Port Adelaide

And obviously Clarko will coach GWS.

Buckley to Port isn't actually a bad shout. But now you've said it it won't happen.

Not going lie, gonna be emotional seeing Marchy run out in the seniors for the first time in 3 years.

Absolutely deserves a change of luck 🙏🙏🙏

Thought he had ambitions about chasing down essendons non finals winning record.
