Not sure the theme needed to have players mock domestic violence, slavery and terrorism. As a headline theme you can see why it could be seen as okay. Player stupidity went to those areas.

Doubt the club would know what the costumes would be going into the day. And from all reports it's the behaviour rather than the costumes that lead to the bans. Probably would have just been fines and possibly out of the headlines without them acting stuff out

Why would it be seen as ok? "Troublesome couples" is just asking for trouble. It's a bad taste theme and it was actually executed in the way a theme like that is intended.

Geelong aren’t even hiding it anymore. 😂
Explosion Reaction GIF

Soft cap working beautifully for us.

No surprises it was taken to the proper channels first.
Wouldn't expect anything less tbh.

How long do Geelong supporters have to keep telling everyone that the AFL “ticked” off on Geelong’s latest scam venture before they catch themselves in a lie? 😂

Must be exhausting to always be on your guard.

Wonder how many Geelong fans had the shits about Juddy’s Visy deal all those years ago…think you’d find some pretty hypocritical takes 😂

Nothing to see here as long as Former St Joseph’s Geelong college graduate, Geelong Advertiser journalist, “News Geelong”/GEST media reporter Mitch Cleary is Johnny-on-the-spot asking soft hitting questions whenever Geelong does anything questionable. 😂

Which suggests it is flying sufficiently close to the sun that clubs are not comfortable with it, otherwise more clubs would do it.

Many a Geelong supporter post about Carlton’s past cap breaches. When Geelong rort the system and it’s in your face to this level, the attitude changes to “if your club was as smart as my club, you’d be doing the same thing.” 😂

Seems clever but not sure how in the spirit of the rules. Yet AFL is ok with it somehow. Odd
Furthermore coaches have complained in the past about the soft cap and how it’s impacting them. Too much work etc and they’ve been trying to get AFL to let them increase staff. Yet here we have a head coach with a second ‘job’. Can’t be too busy then

Chris Scott’s second job literally has “Chief” in the job title. 😂

With the amount of stage management they put into it yesterday I'm sure they realise how close they are flying to the sun.

Not really in the spirit of the rules but just another way around it.

Well we know Carlton aret run anywhere near as well as Geelong 😉

As Kane Cornes says, if you can do it, more clubs should be.
Exhausting work being the tall poppy. Jealousy is a curse sometimes best depicted pictorially.
Only way around it is to continue to be the epitome of off field excellence. So well run. :sunglasses:

A bit presumptuous to suggest anyone is jealous of Geelong. The same posts aren’t being made about Brisbane, West Coast or Hawthorn. Geelong are the Manchester City of the AFL, only a **** ton less successful, but equally as dodgy.
