Well we always had to win against Villa, but with those 2 results going our way, we really have to beat Villa now.
Door swinging open.....

The bluenoses lose thanks to two goals from a former Liverpool player,

ManUre lose after going behind thanks to a penalty from a former Liverpool player.

Chelsea screw up.

Liverpool to beat Villa 5-0 (Lucas hat trick) and take their GD in front of United and Chelsea.:thumbsu:

Title race back on.:thumbsu:

Well this is it. All season long we have been given chances by United and Chelsea with their loss/draw and we've had the same result, not capitalsing on the situation. I will expect this sort of thing to happen.

I will say now, how we play until the end of the season is decade defining. We are in the hunt, even with what I would consider an ordinary season with our performances on the pitch. But we are still in it. What has let us down is not the lack of cattle. It is all between the ears. This season we have lacked confidence. We haven't had the killer insinct against lowly opposition. When we have risen to the top of the table, we have crumbled under the pressure of always looking over our shoulder. We are used to chasing, not at protecting/defending. These things have to stop at some stage. We have a glorious chance to do it this season. Finally, United are looking a bit shaky, Chelsea have been up and down all season, and honestly, havent really looked in it, and we are in the title race. If the miracle does come true this season, then we will have the missing element (self-belief) that we have lacked which has held us back from taking the title. We finally have the players at the club that can do it too, after years and years of building.

But it really does come down to this week. As a Richmond or a Melbourne does in the AFL, each week must be viewed as an elimination final. Because even 1 single draw and we are out of it. Yes, we still need united to slip up in at least 2 games, but its possible. Especially after these last two weeks.

Here's hoping.

****ing international break next weekend

Right when Utd have lost two in a row, after we beat Villa, a stupid ****ing international break... at this stage of the season, why?...

We've got a massive, massive chance to haul ourselves back into it tonight.

Rafa, No more pissing about, "controlling the game" for 75 minutes before we actually try and create anything.

They're struggling, and we need to be at their throat from kickoff, just like the Madrid game.

No doubt we'll **** it up, though.

Oh, and incase anyone hasn't heard - Nando needs two goals against Aston Villa to break a 103 year old record.

Will be the first Liverpool player to score 35 league goals in 50 games since Jack Parkinson in 1906!

Has there been a better match day in recent history that we have not been involved in?
Must win tonight, must win. Rafa, no champions league for nearly a while, go ****in hard just as we have against Manure and Madrid. Win is the only option

I'm actually a little bit worried for Liverpool tonight.

Villa haven't been in form but Carew's sure to start, Villa will defend deep (often harder to break down away from home) and their pace could cause problems for Liverpool.

When it all comes down to it, I'd like to see a Villa win but I wouldn't be too disappointed if we lost. As far as I see it, Arsenal will finish fourth, Villa's only chance is winning one of the next two (Liverpool and Manchester United - away) and being only 3 points behind Arsenal with 7 games to go. As Arsenal have a harder run in from that point - including away games against Liverpool and Manchester United.

Things should be interesting.

Anyway, a draw is useless and I don't think we'll finish ahead of Arsenal but it's certainly still possible as some/most people are ignoring the greater difficulty of Arsenal's run home.

Look guys - I've put in a request to the team to lose tommorow morning and beat Manchester United next week. Assuming we can only win one game - lets face it, we aint' winning both.

Aston Villa were the second most potent team (ending up being the third best statistically) because of the Carew-Young combination and a complimentary central midfield THREE. not two. this two wingers crap is bullshit. Villa were able to control games with Barry-Petrov-Reo-Coker which was almost the perfect blend of players. The one weakness is obvious but nonetheless it's a very good blend and the players improved each other. Villa need to go back to that old system. With that team they're easily the fifth best team in the league.

As for Liverpool? Quite honestly I think you've been the best side this year. Manchester United have been inferior in performances to their team from the last two seasons and in many games - irregardless of the result they've acheived their performances have been underwhelming. Liverpool on the other hand but have been more impressive, more often. Again irregardless of the result.

Looking forward to the end of the season and wish your club the best.

If Heskey starts again.... well I won't be conflicted about who I want to win.

even though it's probably better for you if Chelsea keep winning or at least if they drew.

1. puts more pressure on Manchester United
2. if you **** up and manchester united keep ****ing up then at least Chelsea would stop them from equalling your title wins

wow .. couldnt of asked for a better night, just goes to show how important Vidic is to there structure.
But of course the Man Utd / Chelsea results will mean nothing if we cant capitalize on it though.

lol .. still trying to work out if i should stay up late or go to bed early then get up for it
ahh the conundrums of a 2.55 am kick off
