Just annoys me when United fans like to polish a ****, can't take it when a game is lost, when your team loses, be upset but don't go and dig up history to try and make yourself feel good, you guys got your asses wooped and our keeper didn't have much to do.. accept it, and on your next game that you win, you can be happy about that and enjoy the moment.. until then hahahahaha in your face........... We have the bragin rights........Deal with it..

Well done lads nice to dump united out of a trophy you deserved your win you fought till the end cant ask for more. nice to see andy have a good game if suarez was there with him im sure it would have been more that said united played v well and did look like they were in control at stages and could have scored the winner but it wasnt to be. Liverpool showed heart ... YNWA :)

As for the "photoshopped" picture.

Merseyside Police arrest ‘racist’ supporter after image of 'monkey' gesture appears on Twitter

Merseyside Police last night arrested a 59-year-old man from north Wales after Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Manchester United was marred by alleged racial abuse.

The arrest followed widespread outrage after the publication on the internet of a picture which appeared to show a Liverpool fan making a 'monkey’ gesture during yesterday’s FA Cup tie.

The game was the first between United and Liverpool since an FA inquiry found Luis Suárez guilty of racially abusing Patrice Evra, and the Anfield crowd booed the French full-back every time he touched the ball.

A police statement released late last night read: “The man has been taken to a police station, and will be questioned by officers. Merseyside Police would like to thank North Wales police and Liverpool Football Club for their assistance with this matter.”

The police had earlier said the incident was under investigation by specialist 'hate crimes’ detectives.

Liverpool, who will ban any fan found guilty of racial abuse at Anfield, had earlier said they were working closely with police to identify the man in the photograph.

A Liverpool statement read: “Following today’s game we were made aware of an image being circulated on social media relating to an incident at this afternoon’s FA Cup tie. We are now working closely with Merseyside Police to establish the facts of what occurred and identify the individual involved.”

At the game itself, Merseyside police reported that there had been two arrests (one inside and one outside the ground) and 17 ejections, all for low level disorder offences.

In his programme notes, Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish wrote that “it was important to us that the atmosphere is not tarnished in any way” but felt the booing of Evra did not cross the line.

“Why would I be disappointed for Patrice Evra?” Dalglish asked angrily. “Have you ever played football? I’ve been booed.”

“The media played its part in going through the process in the week in trying to maintain dignity and respect on the football pitch and concentrate on the football and that’s what the players did and that’s what the fans did. The fans are entitled to support their teams. A bit of banter between two teams is brilliant.”

I believe the claims that three United supporters were arrested for spitting on the Hillsborough memorial were made up.

This is the LFC supporters thread, please go away. I knew you would be here pontificating. Whilst the club and its supporters have plenty to answer for they certianly don't need to answer to you on this thread, take it to the main board.

If people can post stupid things about racism on BigFooty safe in knowledge that no-one can question them on it then I fail to see the point in the message board.

So I'll post what I like, until I'm told otherwise.

Have a read of the delusional lot over at redcafe if you want a laugh. Moral victors, totally outplayed Liverpool, can't believe they lost etc etc. They just can't accept defeat and it will make it all the sweeter when we finish off their season at OT in 2 weeks time.

Yep, according to a house mate the FA Cup suddenly is the **** All Cup. They weren't saying that after the win against Man City.. Also had a mate messaging me when Park scored. Kuyt scores the winner and I message him and he's nowhere to be seen.

Wow Moomba usually you manage to keep your dignity and post reasonably, but you've made an ass of yourself the last few pages. You jumped in at the wrong time at something not worth jumping in for, and you just keep digging yourself a bigger hole. You've been blatantly wrong in this case I'm afraid, let it go and return when you're fresh of mind :thumbsu:

Blatantly wrong about what? I've said that WC2022Oz post was stupid, and it was a stupid post, trivialising a serious issue.

Any other post I've made has been in response to one directly asking me a question or referring to me. Not sure why people are complaining so much seeing as if they didn't jump in playing the board policeman, or trying to have a go at me, my post to WC2022Oz would probably been my last in this thread.

Haha. They wont be saying that when they wind up trophyless at the end of the season.

Give me a top 4 finish over winning trophies such as Carling Cup or FA Cup.

Me too. That being said if we don't finish top 4 I would prefer to take out as much silverware as we can so am more than happy for us to take the cup ties seriously. Just wish we would take the same effort into games against the likes of Bolton and Blackburn.

Yeah I'm guessing it would be on viewers choice on one of the 3 channels.

There doesn't appear to be any live coverage (checked last night) but there's a replay a few hours later at 10.30am eastern time. Suits me as it'll be 7.30am in Perth and I'll watch it before work.

But keep an eye on the Foxtel schedules, they sometimes change/get updated at short notice.

To be fair, they won the charity shield so this season won't be a total loss for them. And according to many of their fans they were the "moral" victors last night, whatever that means.
