Wijnaldum is a jack of all trades midfielder. But mainly he water carries for us. Bob's up with key goals at times, hold the ball up terrifically well and it's incredibly hard to get it off him when he's in possession.
He'd be a big loss as he not really like any of our other mids. Better going forward and more creative than Fab. More technical then Hendo. Tougher than Keita and more reliable than Ox.
But then those other mids have things they do better than Gini too. But I feel our other mids are more specialised whereas Gini can kinda do it all.
In a perfect world we would just extend Gini and buy Thiago but alas too many midfielders.

Yeah wijnaldum was not the one I would've sold. If ox or Keita can't do what's required in the attacking midfield role then either or both should be sold to bring in players who can such as a Thiago. Like for like. Think the refusal to sign a contract is pushing Klopp to push him out the door and get Thiago as replacement.

If anything am probably getting slightly worried that we are not going to acquire another centre back .. it seems crazy that we’d be happy to go in with 3 genuine cb’s 2 out of 3 which are injury prone, and fabinho.... but there has been 0 talk of anyone coming in?

I think the club is doing everything they can to move in Wilson and Grujic but want permanent deals and in the current climate it's tough.
Gotta remember the window is still open for quite a while yet.

Our midfield is primarily there to defend and break up play. It is not a midfield that creates. Most of our attacks and link up play comes from our fullbacks. Stop them and you stop Liverpool. Klopp has fixed the defense and the forwards, he now needs to improve the midfield.
Ox stays because he is English. Keita is just starting to prove himself. Gini is in the final year of his contract. I would like the club to add the 10m required to bring in Thiago at the expense of Gini, but I'm not going to worry if it doesn't happen.

If Messi had a valid clause he would have already left and become a free agent. Free agents dont need to hold any discussions with their former club. Hes still registered to Barca and with La Liga.
Dont see it affecting Gini joining them other than if Messi was to be sold for 150-200m we would be asking them 30-40m for Gini at least.

I’d tell Milner that it’s time. Also, we sell AOC and Shaqiri. Keep Wini if possible and bring in Thiago as well.
We aren't getting any new CBS in at least experienced ones. The kids we've brought in are ready when called upon. That's the club's plan right now..

If we get rid of Gini and don't get Thiago Klopp is going to be very pissed at the owners. He really wants Thiago and been told sell Gini and you get Thiago.
I would think if we miss Thiago then we keep Gini, even if he leaves on a free next year.
Possibly. We've still got grujic too. It's a loaded situation right now..sometimes things do always go to plan. Well see.
They should be taking the highest bidder for Wilson and Grujic. They're not in the long term first team plans of the club.

Then they sit. Who are they playing in front of, except when Klopp decides to not prioritise a competition?
It's funny, you can't win every "sign them to a long term deal to protect their value" attempt. But as long as they remain unplayed and unsold, they are pretty much worthless to the club. Cash in.

Hertha Berlin wants Grujic but are trying for another loan with an option to buy. We want a permanent deal for 20m, they are saying they willl wait and see. Should be able to get 15m out of them at least.
