Nobody is guaranteed minutes. The expectation is Brewster takes over from Origi next year and eventually Firmino long term if all goes well.

Nobody is guaranteed minutes except the front three and backline. Brewster is ready to start games weekly. He's not going to stunt his development and play scrap minutes week in week out in the hope he might take over Firmino in two years. Origi and Shaq are happy being role players otherwise they would've left already. Different targets.

Answer Zidane98 if you were Brewster at his age and state of development, would you be content sitting on the becnh week in week out or would you rather go somewhere would you'll be first choice?

Yes I would. Origi probably leaves next year. Firmino gone by 2023.

For this season a PL loan makes sense.

When you keep loading players out it usually means you don't want them/no role for them..if it's becomes year after year time to let go..grujic night stay if we can't find a buyer not because Klopp wants him.

I like Brewster, but his style is not suited to our 4-3-3 system. He just doesn't do the work required off the ball, like Bobby.
Taki for example is much better in that area.
Brewster would be a better fit in a 4-2-3-1 up top. He's great in the box with his predatory instinct for snagging goals.

No more loans though. Guys who go out on loan never make the grade with us.

Yeah. We don't turn loanees to starters usually only to boost fee.

Man they play us for dummies. Nah we don't know if Gini wants to leave lol even though the club is basically pushing him out so we can sign thiago. Lol

Jürgen Klopp is set to hold talks with Gini Wijnaldum to find out whether the midfielder wants to leave Liverpool for Barcelona. Liverpool would insist on Barcelona not trying to string out negotiations. #awlive [@_pauljoyce] https://t.co/HDxnIM4psf

Why? Why aren’t we rotating more? We’re an even better side when we rotate more. We saw that last season.

Doubt Klopp backs his secondary forwards that much. His midfielders we know he backs. Forwards not so much. Ideally we could rotate more up forward but that would require a) forwards to be okay with it b) Klopp trusting his secondary forwards

By trusting it just means does he rage them and can they fit in his system. Don't think he believes Brewster does for some reason I don't know.

Oh don't give them ideas, they may just do it after seeing this photo

I’ve thought for a while that Klopp isn’t big on Brewster, just from the way he talks about him. I get the feeling Klopp sees him as a finisher with not much else to his game and that is not his sort of player. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he was sold.
I tend to agree with you on this. There is a difference in the way he speaks about Brewster to say, the way he speaks about Jones or Elliot.

Brewster though IMO isnt all that different than Origi, more a finisher, goal scorer than an all round player which is what Klopp covets. But if you were to sell one, surely it would be Origi as Brewster is HG and you would get more for Origi.

Fluminense have agreed to sell goalkeeper Marcelo Pitaluga to Liverpool after they made a new and improved offer. The fee was of £1,82M and Fluminense will keep a 20% sell on clause on the Brazilian. Pitaluga spoke with Alisson via his brother Muriel. [UOL Esporte]

Now to get him a work permit...

I agree what you say here re Origi and Brewster. Was then just wondering about how many players out there play like Firmino - he's like this perfect balance between a 9 and 10. Surely one of the reasons Klopp hasn't had much creativity in Midfield is because of Firmino. What's the evolution of the team involve if he was injured? Stick a '9' up front and deal with, or go like for like - I guess that's what Taki was for....

I feel Minamino is an attempt to get someone else in the squad who is like Firmino.

Yeah, it's interesting - not having seen him play a lot I wonder if he's be even a bit more false 9ish than Firmino. Interesting that Klopp had lewendowski at BD - seems a bit different again.
