It's like every kid we've played out wide so far have already done more than Downing has for us
It's sad for Downing, but it's true. I never wanted the club to sign him and then for the 20 million that was quoted, I was horrified. He was so poor last season and this season, everyone has gone past him. I would rather Suarez, Borini, Assaidi, Sterling, J.Cole, Suso in our front 3. Yet to see Yesil but my gut feeling says I would prefer him in the front 3 too. Obviously Downing doesnt play central but you get what im saying.

Man I've been calling this all along that we need more black players and it's good to see Sterling and Wisdom feature in the 1st team. Hopefully we get to see Sama, Sinclair and Ibe down the track as well, would be awesome..

The Reds team in full is: Jones, Robinson, Coates, Carragher, Wisdom, Henderson, Sahin, Downing, Pacheco, Assaidi, Yesil. Subs: Gulacsi, Sama, Suso, Sterling, Wilson, Sinclair, Coady.

I wondered what had happened to Coady. Suso should be starting. I dont have much faith in Pacheco anymore. Does nothing almost everytime he gets a chance in the 1st team.

this time he will be good I promise you, looks like he'll be playing through the middle with Assaidi left and Downing right, that is where he will shine! line up looks solid to me and i'm thinking of nothing but a win.

Dont think you are right with that one. It seems a strange lineup as I dont think Downing works in a midfield 3. But I assume the front three are Pacheco and Assaidi wide with Yesil in the middle.

Shocker from Jones to gift them a goal. But Foster must have felt bad and then failed to save Sahin's long drive. 1-1. We have all the ball again. Little end product. Yesil has looked average. Sahin, Robinson, Assaidi our best so far and Pacheco hasnt sucked. Downing however has.

that was sweet. good subs by BR. i enjoy watching our football and we did it very well after the first ten minutes where I thought "oh shit it looks like men v boys". sahin coates good. assaidi and yesil too and henderson. very happy that very young team came away with the win and we progress :D

Geez Suso.. comes on and within a minute, he just unlocks the defense. He just runs at them but its the feint that he is going to shoot, brings a defender down, then lays it too Assaidi for a first time easy ball across to Sahin for a tap in.

Sahin was MOTM. Terrific performance, wont be long til he is starting every match with Gerrard and Allen in midfield until the return of Lucas.

Really pleased with that win though. Just a bunch of kids away from home getting the job done.

Coates - 21
Wisdom - 19
Robinson - 19
Henderson - 22
Pacheco - 21
Yesil - 18

That's 6 of the 11 players who started the game at 22 years old or younger and the two subs were 16 and 18 in Sinclair and Suso respectively.

Of the 5 others who started, Sahin and Assaidi are only 24. Only Carragher, Jones and Downing were 24 or older. It's pretty crazy.

Great goal. It was well mastered and executed. Very flawless.
Reminded me of some of Swansea's stuff last season, lots of intricate passing, triangles, finding a player, then suddenly it is worked to Suso in space, he turns runs at the defense, everything suddenly opens up, slide rule pass to Assaidi, first time low ball across, simple tap in. Just good football.

Suso will no doubt be starting on Saturday hence why he was only a sub tonight. Sinclair the youngest Liverpool player ever. Exciting times.
Yeah you'd think Suso would start, but after Sahins performance it will be a tough decision to make.

Good call! Thought he did well.

Sahin & Assaidi (at £3m looks like being a bargain) were brilliant. Coates & Robinson stood out in defence. Suso continues to impress, he showed such composure in unlocking the defence for that 2nd goal. It's one thing that these youngsters are being given opportunities, but another entirely for them to take them and perform so well.

My lineup for Norwich would be:

----------------Reina----------------
Johnson--Skrtel--Coates--Enrique
------------Allen-- Sahin------------
---------------Gerrard---------------
Assaidi--------Suarez------Sterling

Subs: Suso, Henderson, Robinson, Carra, Downing, Yesil, Pacheco

I feel like we're about to see a big group of these young lads break through and establish themselves this season. They're being called 'Brendan's Babes'!

Because most of them have been trained in this style in the Academy for the last 3-4 years, the passing patterns and 1 touch football we're looking to execute at 1st team level seem to be coming as 2nd nature to a lot of these kids. That's why they all seem to slot in so seemlessly. I've said this before but I actually thought there were times when the reserves were playing better football than the seniors last season largely on the back of players like Suso, Sterling, Adorjan, Wisdom, Robinson etc. They've adjusted to 1st team football with no problems whatsoever and if anything, the higher quality players around them are bringing even better performances out of them.

Since we dont have alot of players that we brought in, its so exciting to see all the kids play!!
And so many of them have got potential!!
Cudos BR

Our attacks are set up much more fluently as compared to last season. Under kenny it was about getting it to the forwards as quick as possible and get the opposition on the hop.
We missed so many shots due to the franticity of it.
We are much more measured and we will see the rewards soon enough.
