My reading of the situation is they haven’t lost hope he’s leaving otherwise it would be pointless playing him. Sounds like it’s far from a done deal and he still needs convincing to move.

I hope that you’re right. I’d put my left testie on FSG being the major obstacle though. They’re probably trying to negotiate a lower buyout fee or being able to pay it over several years.
