If it's up to me, Virgil and Trent gets 300k and Mo gets 400k

There are so many spuds in Man Utd that get more than 300k, Virgil and Trent asking for that rating while being the best in the world at their position isn't unreasonable, it's just the going rate. If you wanna win trophies then that's the money you have to pay to retain your stars

Interesting that Bradley has more assists than Trent.

Carragher makes a lot of sense there. Trent perhaps trying to cover his ass by saying well you could have gotten a fee for me so please dont hate me.

If he goes to Madrid, he will be hated by the fans, make no mistake. He will kill his legacy here.

He will still be a Liverpool great but he wont be loved by the fanbase in 20 years like Gerrard is etc. He will be looked upon like Michael Owen is.

He has every right to go and if he does, good luck. But he will kill his legacy. That's on him I guess.

I don't think it's justified to give Trent the same level of hate that Owen/McManaman got for leaving. The guy has won everything with the club and been a major contributor to Premier League and CL winning sides.

No doubt it would hurt if he chose to leave, and you can maybe point fingers about how he has chosen to do it (noting that it's much more the fault of the owners/club for not getting a deal sorted earlier). But it's petulant/immature to say that this will destroy his legacy with the club. He rightfully will go down as one of our all time greats even if he doesn't play another minute for the club.

Justified or not, he will be hated.

It's the feeling that he is turning his back on the club. As a fan of Liverpool FC, you dont entertain supporting another team. It's ridiculous to even entertain the thought. LFC is family, it's tribal, it's everything.

He's one of us. He grew up a fan, he idolised Steven Gerrard growing up like we all did.

To turn his back on us after everything is unforgiveable. That's just how 95% of the fan base will see it.

It's like one of us in here deciding to not support Liverpool anymore and just becoming a Real Madrid fan instead.

His situation is quite simply nothing like that of a fan. It's his career, one which is short and where he only gets one chance at it. He's given essentially 20 years of his life to the club, and helped the club to achieve things that they haven't in a generation.

The desire to go play at a club like Real Madrid, live in a foreign country, make more money and try something new are all completely understandable. If you want to equate his situation to the average fan, I'm sure most people can empathise with deciding to move to a new job for any of the above reasons (barring the chance to play for Real Madrid). I don't begrudge him for placing his own happiness ahead of that of Liverpool fans. You shouldn't either.

Hopefully Trent succeeds in La Liga. Wouldn't want to see him fail then return to the PL and a rival club.
Imagine Trent lining up for Manchester United a'la Michael Owen. SMH.
Club legend? Nah. Club great? Yeah, give him that.

So who's likely to join Bradley? Frimpong?

The sad thing is on Trent going, is that the club won't make any money in the transfer, as he will go there for nothing..
