Interesting for sure.

In other words if a club does not officially apply for a PP you have zero chance of getting one awarded.

AFL only considers applications apparently within a certain time frame and does not award them off their own bat.

Weird if this is true.

There seem to be two schools of thought on that (whether an application is required).

All things being equal if there are two possibilities and the combined brain power on Talking Footy is leaning one way, the other option is a safe bet of being correct.

Tom Brown was pretty adamant in saying that he approached the AFL for clarification on the issue and his reply to the issue was what i posted above.

I have no reason to believe he is taking shit at all.

The only way it will change is that if the AFL have a change of heart and alter the rules/procedure regarding the PP pick and application of clubs applying for them etc.

As it stands if you don’t officially apply you are not even being considered for one.

That is not to say the AFLs stance will not change though...

Until tonight I actually thought Wayne Carey was pretty good with his analysis.

But the muppet just suggested we trade pick one to a club like Melbourne for a bunch of their fringe players like Bugg, Tyson and Frost. The idea being that they’re senior bodies and ready straight away. Just laughable you couldn’t make this shit up.

Although i don't agree with the players he selected Wayne has a point. One draft pick isn't going to fix the issues with our list, especially if we select Lucozade.

How can the process for a priority pick require an application 7 or more weeks before the end of the season? What if a team gets on a roll and wins 3 or 4 on the way home? Makes no sense but it is the AFL so is probably true.

I agree 100%. Is there anyway that members/supporters can start a petition to put pressure on the club to apply for a PP or even take the pressure off the club to change their minds.

Can just imagine Liddell saying "with massive pressure from members we had to change our attitude towards the PP"

Hi again everyone. Just a quick post before I run away again.

I’ve been reading the forums at my early morning baby feeds and feel the frustration so many on here have.

I’m wondering why the club isn’t doing everything it can to improve the situation and a big part of that is why we aren’t applying for a priority pick.

I’ve been a member for a long time. I’ll continued to pay up each year. But I just don’t get why we aren’t doing everything possible to get out of this hole.

Is it worth getting a petition up, for members and supporters, so we are demanding action? We are rock bottom and I can’t see the logic in not asking for a priority pick when we sure as hell need one.

Thoughts on a petition? Mods - not sure where to post.
